I need some clarification if IV Rocephin should be taken with a cyst buster and if it will in fact kill all three forms of Borrelia, as I am only taking the IV Rocephin only per my LLMD.

Please let me know.

Thanks,

Rob

I took it with biaxin and flagyl, which was pulsed because it was so hard for me to tolerate.

The theory is that the bugs will go into cyst form, and the rocephin won't touch them . . . so again, the theory is that a cyst buster is necessary.

lymenet Dana posted this a few weeks ago. great explaination, I kept it.

"When Bb feels threatened or under attach by our immune system or by abx, it goes into a cystic form.

When Bb goes into cystic form it is not able to be destroyed by abx any longer. It is capable of replicating while in the cystic form. It is dormant but far from not being busy.

So if one Bb goes into cystic form , and when it feels like the coast is clear more than one live intact Bb can emerge from the one original cystic form.

That's why when your body is able to with stand the cyst busters it's important to take them ~like flagel or tinnie (tinidimax). It is also important to take an abx while on cyst busters to kill off the emerging Bb's."

I took Flagyl for 3 months in the beginning with IV Rocephin. You should not take Flagyl longterm as it is carcinogenic that way said my LLMD. SO the rest of the time I took it without Flagyl and that included the time in which I became very responsive.

I have known plenty of people on IV Rocephin who responded who were not on Flagyl. I would trust your LLMD, and ask re Flagyl at your next appointment!!!

FLagyl is tough!!! For me it caused convulsive vomiting and photophobia, stiff neck and hideous pressured jackhammer nonstop headaches. It also can cause depression or suicidality in some people-

So if you have those things already your doc may not want to put you on it!!!

Take care-
