My LLMD has me on IV Rocephin, 2 mg 2x's / day, 4x's / week.

I have babesia also, he want's me to start back on Malarone 4 each / day, plus Biaxin. I couldnt handle the zithro / malarone combo.

Is this too much?

Just worried about my liver and kidneys.

I am also on pain meds for all the pain i am in.

It's an individual thing ... what is too much for one isn't for another. Be sure to get your bloodwork done monthly to check how you're doing.

You'll know if it's too much when you begin herxing. As long as he is checking your liver/kidneys every few months, you'll be fine.

Don't forget....herxing gets you well!

They do my bloodwork every week per ILADS guidelines while on Rocephin, so we've got a close eye on them.

thanks yall!

Dear Jamie,

Just a heads up. Biaxin was much stronger for me than zithromax.

My neighbor, who is a RN, said it is stronger than zith.

All I know is that it made my Lyme symptoms go crazy.

Are you doing that rocephin via IM injections?

I always wondered if I could do that to myself...

Sending you positive thoughts and healing prayers.

Hugs,

Geneal
