I have been having this horrible left rib/back pain when I am sitting down or lying on my right side for a year now that is just getting worse. Now it is also bad if I am standing with weight on left foot (recently had surgery on right foot, so non-weight bearing to that foot) It is only one of many, many symptoms, but one of the worst. I have had MRI of spine, rib xrays, all supposedly "normal". I've had injections at the spine institute and now they are planning a ablation to basically "kill" the nerves to that area. It is only helped with ice and pressure to that bottom rib area on the left. I have also had right front lower rib pain for over a year as well, also unexplained. Normal rib xrays, liver tests, gallbladder tests ect. But this is not as bad as the left back/rib pain. I can't even sit long enough to have dinner without an ice pack on my back to deaden the area. Any suggestions?

This could possibly be from congested lymph in the groin, believe it or not.

Congested and toxic lymph nodes irritate the muscles surrounding them.

The soaz muscle connects inside the hip bones, under the front ribs, and in the middle of the back.

They are very long muscles. They get tender where they connect to the bones.

Check to see if your muscles are tender on the inside of your hip bones.

If so, you might want to go to a good massage therapist who can help you relax those muscles and do some lymph drainage.

If you get lymph drainage, drink lots of water and expect to get a herx.

I'd try surgery only after trying a few sessions of some really good body work.

i had a similar pain for most of last year and part of this one. i referred to it as being poked in stomach with a broom handle (at the ULQ of abdomen at ribs).

for me, these were all my early signs to CFS & Lyme. it started after a bout with the flu.. my stomach began to hurt, my stools changed, and i was fatigue all the time.

a buddy with Lyme says my spleen was most likely inflamed altho CT scans did not indicate. it may have been a Babesia flare up.

my pain subsided in May/Jun07. it kind of faded away. i was taking Matrine & Tumeric up to that point. i began research on Lyme around that time.

read my posts on wrongdiagnosis.com to see if you can relate. search user sonicbmx.. this link should get you there.

BTW.. i broke my foot Nov05 and had surgery too. let me know if i can help.
