This is not the AIDS type of acquired immunodeficiency, and I don't think it is affecting the heart of this child. (Not my child, but a good one, nonetheless.)

I wonder how many of us are limited in ability to fight Lyme disease because our immune systems are too weak. Weak to the point that antibiotics can't do the job alone.
That treatment is what i improved on the most. Something called Gamunex, i think its just another version of gammaguard. Its intravenous immunoglobulin. I get via infusions. It has all but eradicated my neuro symptoms. My blood showed autoimmune markers so the neurologist started to treat me with this. I highly reccomend giving this a shot. -Dawn

I think immunodeficiency is the reason I'm not improving. I don't seem to have a very good functioning immune system. I am sick half the year from colds and flu's that my family and friends have. The problem is thatI seem to catch EVERYTHING and then it takes me months to get over it.
I don't think I'll get well unless I fix my immune system first.

Ann, I get small amounts of this, very helpful. Larger amounts might be more helpful but too expensive & also I get side effects (gallbladder doesn't like it, very thick molecule).
Gamunex is the best--no sugar or salt in the solution. IMO.
Cave76, btw is that a reference to Melbrooks (your monitor) becuase the other day I thought so and was remembering how funny the 2000 year old man was.
Anyway. To get IVIG for lyme you usually need a neuro diagnosis. Small fiber neuropathy is one for example. Immunodeficiencies, subclass deficiencies, can be tested but they're probaby not that common with lyme. I hear of a neurologist in NYC, who does a special dye-test for nerve fiber damage for lyme.

Just reading the precautions of this therapy that tree's first website brings up is rather scarey.
I have been told by the VA that I have an immune deficiancy...
However I don't know that I would readily give this a try due to my age and diabetes.

Cave: "`Let `em all go to hell, except Cave 76.'
"Back then a cave was important. It went beyond shelter. It was part of your identity. Every cave was like its own individual nation. We had our own flags and our own national anthems. I'll never forget ours. My mother wrote it. It had such passion and pride. Let me sing it to you. Wait, I'll clear my throat. Here goes:
"`Let `em all go to hell, except Cave 76.'
"Hah? Is that beautiful? I still get a chill when I hear that song."

Because it made me laugh my head off years ago when a baseball player did an impersonation of the whole riff for me. And I'd forgotten it until suddenly your named sparked a memory. And I went online and read bits. It's soooooo funny. Where did you buy the CD? Posts: 2276 | From united states | Registered: Jun 2004
