I've been having many symptoms from Lymes, but the most serious is Back and chest pains.I'm On Doxy, Lyrica and Oxycodone.I've been having shortness of breath despite quitting smoking. Is this another symptom of Lymes or is it the Oxycodone thats doing it. It does suppress your breathing if used more than recommended. I use 5/325 mg Twice a day which is little compared some people taking opioids. What do you think?

Shortness of breath can be linked to babesia. I have shortness of breath too.

I would suspect Babesia also. Make sure you get treated for it.

The following signs/symptoms may be present in those infected with Babesiosis:
Fatigue
Arthralgias
Myalgia
Drenching sweats
Headaches
Emotional lability
Depression
Dark urine
Splenomegaly
Dizziness
Nausea and vomiting
Cough
Dyspnea
Fever
Chills
Hepatosplenomegaly
Jaundice
Malaise
Shortness of breath
Bleeding tendencies, bruising
Thrombocytopenia
Hemoglobinuria
Hyperesthesia
Pulmonary edema
Encephalopathy
Low to normal range leukocyte counts
Possible elevated levels of dehydrogenase, bilirubin,
transaminase*
Anorexia
Approximately 25%- 66% of Babesia patients are known to be co-infected with Lyme disease. These symptoms may continue for long periods of time, decrease, then return. A low Babesiosis titer (IgG) often indicates a chronic infection.
An acute or current infection may show a higher reading on the IgM test initially. There are over 100 species of Babesia in the United States but only ONE or TWO species are currently checked by commercial labs.

Chest pain can also be from heartburn, which can be caused by antibiotics.

Hi Sal66,

I have had several separate chest pain symtoms.

Before diagnosis and treatment I had constant rib soreness (very tender to touch)

I also had swollen and painful lymph glands.

These 2 disapeared after starting abx treatment.

More recently after several symptoms worsened or returned I had what seemed to be pain in my heart.

This usually was accompanied by a general tightness in my chest.

I dont know the cause but I started taking 250mg CoQ10 with 1 tablespoon flaxseed oil after breakfast and the pain and tightness stopped.

That symptom has been gone for about 3 wks so far.

At the advice of several posting here I also am being tested for the co-infections.

I have quite a few of the symtoms for babesia. Blood was drawn and sent to IgeneX Tuesday, we'll see.

When I had these recent chest pains I found myself playing a bit of a head game asking myself-
"Is this just another freaky symptom or is it serious" "should I call my doc?"

Any new symtom is reason to call my doc and this one was potentially serious. Boy, sometimes my mind seems to be trying to do me in.

BJK

This is not medical advice, just my experience.

When I was taking some hydrocodone, I noticed some shortness of breath that began about a half-hour afterwards. Did not last more than 10min or so.
