Thanks!

Big craving for sweets and bread. There are blood and stool tests that diagnose candida.

Bloated, gassie, more constipation~ these top 3(specially the gassie part) are key for me it's hit the intestinal tract. If I have thrush(coating on my tongue) for too long & also pain when I swallow that means for me it's hit the uppper GI tract.

also sweet cravings, more fatigue, more mental confusion, more joint pain, & if you are a woman it might involve a vag yeast infection.

Hi jsnyde2

Ok for me-Upper GI yeast is where the yeast infection (usually starting from thrush on my tongue) spreads into my lower esophagus. It hurts sometimes when I swallow pills & foods. It can also make me more nauseated.

lower GI yeast is in the intestines with gas, bloating, ect... & for me is a red flag it is probably systemic.

Systemic is the worst. It usually starts out with signs like thrush or vag yeast infection. Then I start getting really more tired, & just plain feel sick all over. It usually takes some rx anti-yeast meds at this point to knock it out, like diflucan or sporanox

hope this helps
Dana

none of the above is medical advise...just my 2 cents

Everything mentioned above happens for me as well, but sometimes I also have diarrhea, which is the big clue in for me to take some anti-yeast meds.

I have a lot of other gut issues going on, though - gut dysbiosis is an issue for me - so I'm not sure how that impacts what's happening with the yeast.

Beating the craving for sweets can get really hard, when the yeast is active.

Hang in there,
Cactus

If you have thrush, you have it all the way down.

DIET, DIET, DIET is the key. Then, be sure to follow the 5 step plan outlined below. It was developed by my naturopath. It works.

Candida diet and elimination:

http://www.wholeapproach.com/diet/

Lyme symptoms list compared with yeast symptoms
http://flash.lymenet.org/ubb/Forum1/HTML/021202.html

"Successful control and elminiation of a Candida Albicans overgrowth requires a multifaceted program as described below. Failure to follow ALL the steps simultaneously will result in slow progress and will lengthen healing time significantly. The program should be tailored to the individual and must balance the need to eliminate the Candida and deprive it of its food source while insuring proper nutrition for the individual."

Five Steps to Candida Elimination:

1. You must starve it into submission by eliminating its food source.

2. You must kill it with anti-fungal herbs and supplements. [e.g....garlic, onion, caprylic acid, Pau D'Arco capsules or tea, clove, grapefruit seed extract, olive leaf extract, oil of oregano, tea tree oil, Echinacea, Goldenseal, black walnut, MSM, barberry root, uva ursi, neem leaf, biotin]

3. You must reestablish the proper balance and quantity of probiotic bacteria in the digestive tract. [...multi-strain lactobacillus acidophilus and bifidus capsules with FOS should be taken between meals to maximize repopulation of the digestive tract by beneficial bacteria.]

4. You must reestablish proper levels of all B vitamins (yeast free) and utilize other immune enhancing supplements to boost immune system function. [e.g ... B complex vitamins (yeast free), biotin, beta 1-3 glucan, colostrum, maitake mushroom, vitamins A, C, E, zinc and selenium]

5. You must cleanse and heal the digestive tract to promote proper elimination of toxins and Candida and assimilation of nutrients. [e.g...chlorophyll, MSM, omega 3 fatty acids found in flax seed and salmon oils, GLA found in borage, evening primrose and black currant oils. Pantothenic acid, digestive enzymes between meals] lyme disease in Europe is http://health.groups.yahoo.com/group/EuroLyme/

Hi everyone!!
Just wanted to say thanks [Big Grin] for discussing this, it's something I was not even aware of! I have found quite a few topics I would have never thought was connected to LD, I just thought it was "just me" either because that's what the ducks told me [Roll Eyes] or I just came to believe it!!
Anyway, thanks again for all of the things discussed here.

I have yeast but no gas or bloating unless I eat wheat or lots of carbs.

When I take antifunglas I get KNOCKED OUT!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

I pass out and wake up 2 hours later after having vivd nightmares and wake up and not know where I am and am very depressed.

This happens with Nystatin, Caprylic acid, GSE
almost anything that kills yeast.

So now Im doing psyllium and olive oil to kill it and detox, also Im doing HEAVY probiotics.

I feel so scrwed becauese I cant really treat it because the herx is so bad.

Its not you, the ducks no nothing about intestinal yeast because they cant see it. Unless youre stopped up like a cork or have yeast on your skin or on your tounge they wont help you.

They dont test for it because its not life threatening and there is no good test. It also effects people in different ways. For most the yeast just ferment the sugar normally but for those who were on antibiotics it turns into a more mutant form that digs into the gut mucosa.

IM 100% convinced that the Candida problem that I have is just as bad as the Lyme was. My LLMD wasnt as convinced and want to do stool test for me now. IM CONVINCED BECAUSE OF MY REACTION TO ANTI_FUNGALS!

Same as it was for Lyme. Also mycoplasma comes up.
