When I went to see him he wanted me to start on antibiotics after hearing my symptoms. He said it could be lyme.
He then had me do blood work with Quest. I have heard on this site that Quest is very unreliable. The results came back normal he said. He then said " We did get them back; all the tests were normal, so diagnosis based on clinical picture."
I am afraid of taking so many antibiotics if the problem is not lyme. How long will I have to take antibiotics before I know it is lyme.
I have heard on this site of people having a herx shortly after taking antibiotics. This tells them if it is lyme.
I am basically scared to start treatment if lyme is not the issue.
I have also e mailed this doctor to see if he will test my blood at Igenex.
Still waiting for response.

He might be trying to save you money by not sending to Igenix. You can never rely on a test, even from Igenix, to tell you that you have Lyme.
Even Igenix misses cases. Lyme should be diagnosed clinically.
Started antibiotics and seeing if there is a reaction is actually a way to find out if you have Lyme. A herx usually happens in the first few days.
What is he starting you on? Most LLMDs start people off lightly.

It would be a good way to find out!!!
I had no idea he used Quest....
Go ahead with plans to be tested by Igenex. Did ANY bands show up on Quest?
