are you doing it by yourself, or do you have doctor/LLMD guidance? i know the book is wonderfully detailed regarding specific dosages, ramping up, side effects, etc, but the idea of going at it alone still makes me nervous.

what are your experiences?

thanks.

I read Buhner, then read whatever else I can about his herbs.

Then I make a decision about what I think will be best for me,

and I take it to my doctor who does kinesiology to help me decide what to take, how much, and when.

Well, I am going it alone. Not really by choice - husband's layed off; always relapsed from abx/ maleria meds; LLMD's 8 hrs away; etc, etc.

That said, I have ingested ALOT of RX's over 8 yrs, and have knocked load down considerably prior to going Buhner's route.

I have read the book, re-read the book, highlighted the book, and still refer to it almost daily.

Like Bejoy- I research everything before taking it & I go SLOW. I don't have a kinesiology dr so I rely on my own intuition, and am very in tune to my body.

I am doing VERY WELL. My stomach has never been better. Things that I never really associated with lyme are improving: heels of feet that have been cracked & dry regardless of how much ointment & use of pumice stone, are now new like a baby's. A bonus, hehehe!

My feet are warm almost always - ice cold before - even in summer.

No more twitches...I always took (1) 500mcg B-12 and never noticed a difference in twitching - upped it to 2, (every now and then 3) twitching all gone.

Body temp is closer to normal -1 day I was even exactly 98.6* (1st few weeks I ran a fever)

My 2 yrs of lower back pain upon waking in the morning - gone.

Constant chills - gone

Urine is clearer & and I don't need to pee every 15 mins anymore for some reason. It's yellow, not tea colored & I haven't even started the cryptolepsis for the babs yet.

My energy level is better than it was 15 yrs ago - I'm amazed. I've been to all my daughter's cross country meets this season - even the one's 3hr's away. Last yr, I couldn't go if it was more than 30 mins away.

My mood is good - but better yet - it's steady; no more up's and down's. When I overdo I just get tired, I don't crash & burn.

My legs ache sometimes - not ALL the time.

My face is clearer - boils are down about 75%.

The whites of my eye's are white. No yellow tint, no longer red like I just left happy hour.

I am still not a great sleeper - but I manage to get more than 2 hrs in a row. Most night's now I get about 5 hrs- all in a row - no waking up to pee...or waking up cuz my hand &/or arm was numb...or waking cuz my legs ached/twitched; and here's the best - I DREAM NOW!!! I forgot how NICE it is to dream!

I still don't have much hunger, but I force myself to eat relatively well.

Oh, and thru some research I've gotten off both plavix & crestor by replacing w/ other herbs like Gota Kola, Fish Oil, etc.

Now, I do realize that I will have to have some bloodwork done by a Dr or LLMD soon just to monitor - but thus far I'm confidant thru how I feel that I'm OK for now. I did a home choles. test last week, and it is up some from where it was on crestor - but I'm going to work on some liver detox before bloodwork just to see if the problem may be there.

I have not ramped up to full dose, nor added everything I intend to - because I'm going very slow to be safe. That way seemed to make me feel better about going it alone. I had to look at it this way - with my LLMD 8 hrs away - I was kinda going it alone when I was on RX!

Other than Buhner's herbs I am also doing whole approach yeast protacol; starting about a week ago I added in the Health Marvels detox footpads; Have had about 6 accupuncture TX in as many weeks, and I make sure I break a good sweat everyday, either outside in the heat, or in the epsom salt bath.

I really don't think I've gone that far into the protacol, still have many things to add and am not fully ramped up and I'm amazed at how quickly things have turned around.

Right now, I'm up to:
(2) Source Naturals Resveratrol X 3 perday;
(1) Andrographis X 3 perday
(1) GotaKola X 2 perday
(1) Sib.Ginsing X 2 perday
(1) Evening Primrose
(1) ea Selenium, Zinc w/copper & 400IU Vit E
(1) Glocosamine X 3perday
(1) SolarRay CircuLegs X 2 perday
(1 or 2)Whole Approach Yeast Drink & 2 Probioplus DDS
Plus Vitamins:
(1) Multi
(1) B-6 100MCG
(2) B-12 500MCG
(1) B-Complex
(2) Mag 100mg
(1) Fish Oil 1200
(2) Ester-C 500MG
(1 or 2) Sarsparilla 450mg.
Plus: detox footpads at night,and
a nightly prayer asking to be surrounded w/ God's healing light...for some reason I also ask this when I add something new.

Still to add: CoQ10, BioSil, ALA or NAC, Pregnenolone, MSM, Pinella & Cryptolepsis.

So for doing it since Aug 10, and going slow both in ramping & adding new, I feel good both about how it's going & going it alone!

Actually, I think I now enjoy being in control of what I feel I need & how much my body can handle at a time. It is somehow enpowering to finally feel like I've got this thing by the tail [Big Grin]

Hope this helps you to decide if it's a right move for you!

(((hug)))

PS - I have noticed that the herxes are milder than w/RX, but yet exactly the same in nature as one's I've experienced in the past - I view this as a good litness test for if the herbs are working.

By myself in the beginning, then with kinesiologists in the middle, back to doing alone doing my own kinesiology.

For a long time, I did like Gardenlymer, very carefully, very in tune with my body, specially in between practioners' visits. It worked well like that, as herbs for me needed tuning all the time.

I was in very similar herbs as Gardenlymer, many suplements were the same. I improved very fast with his herbs, then needed to catch coinfections here and there, some parasites, viruses and of course, constant metal detox and general cleansing.

The most difficult is to tune toward the end of treatment as there's little info on what to do.

I'm still on candida battle (not GI though), still herxing a bit, but very well. I believe my lyme and tickborn coinfectes are gone, but only time will tell.
