Hi! I have been actively treating Lyme/Babs/Bart for the last 4 months and feeling overall well. My question is, over the last few weeks I have been getting weird black and blue marks all over my body. I mean LARGE marks that hurt a little. They appear in strange spots, i.e. triceps, both thighs. I don't remember any type of trauma. Any input?

I too have had my share of bumps and bruises, I'm not a Dr. and I know a lot more about Lyme than the Dr.s where I live. From my experiences, check your Liver Enzymes. Bruising is a sign maybe from your Liver. And if it's not. THen are you dehydrated and or does your skin hurt just to touch it? Needles have never hurt or bothered me. But since my Liver deal from 2 yrs ago. Now anything and needles feels more like a a very painful sting. Never hurt before and now it does.

Hope you find out soon. There are a number of reasons for easy bruising.

Sincerely
Annie

I got those from babesiosis- it can be, not to scare you, a sign of hemolytic anemia, where your red blood cell walls get really weak and break. If you are treating for Babs it can happen as a tranisent herx. I got huge spreading ones- and could feel them before they came- an ache in the skin- and when herxing got them like crazy- my little daughetr also got ones- which scared me because I dressed her in long sleeves all the time because I was scared people would think they were from touching- but they came from the inside- adn stopped when she and when I were fully treated for babs-

I was on mepron 2 years- she was on 9 months-

they are usually transient but always bring them up with your doctor because it can be serious in a minority of cases-

it is easy to check if your blood is hemolysing- it won't separate white from red cells when it is drawn-!!!
