My LLMD wants to put me on IV magnesium 2 grams every day for thirty days. Does that seem like overkill to anybody? Anybody else have experience with this?
Apparently, i'm extremely malnurished and my immune system is quite compromised. This will apparently jump start it.
If the answer is yes, I need to procure it myself. PM me if you have any ideas where I should get it.
Thanks!

CostCo has boxes of 25 1 gram (2ml.) vials for around $25.00. This might not serve your purposes. I take one vial IM every now and then for spasms and twitchies.

Wow, that is quite a bit you must need it. Make sure the dose IS correct. When I did Mag IV it was 2-3 times per week, and only 1 gram per dose.
It can make you feel warm and flushed. helps twitching a ton.

Thank you, I can't believe Costco has it, and yes the dose is correct. My llmd says I'm a walking zombie with how sick I am, but I keep a positive attitude. I've done the self pity thing and that does nothing for me.
Thanks for the advice. More is still appreciated!

I take 2 grams of IV MGSO4 3 times a week for my severe leg cramps. I got my PICC put in 3 weeks ago and, over my week long hospital stay, my LLMD ordered 2g of Mag daily. Now that I am home he has cut the dose back. I think it has helped a little, although I haven't seen any dramatic improvement. I still hurt, and I still can't get out of bed without taking a Norco an hour before I plan on rising. I am so sorry that I can't help you with finding it, though. I have a compounding pharmacy in Dallas that delivers my IV meds weekly... Best of luck. I hate lyme disease!!!

I get two grams of Mg weekly in an IV infusion including Vit C, trace minerals, glutathione, B's, etc....I get the IVs at my doc's office.
I also get B12 shots two to three times weekly, self administered.
This approach has changed my life for the better...more able to function, better energy, assuming better able to fight these diseases.
My one concern is that you know that Magnesium will most likely cause you to have the runs within 24 hours. It's sudden and dramatic, especially at that high dose. Talk to your doctor about remaining hydrated and how this can effect you. Mag is a smoothe muscle relaxer, hence the runs....
Hope this helps. Carol Ann

I thought it was only 1 of the 3 forms of magnesium that caused the runs. I was taking that form in a powder & it defiantly had that effect, but the llmd said the kind she uses in the IV isn't supposed to do that. Or is it just that it doesn't do it as bad? ( I realy don't look forward to if thats the case.
The regular Dr. out here has given me injections a few times & it did give me the warm felling but no runs.

Also, so far I have had no problems with diarrhea or anything like that while taking IV Magnesium Sulfate.
