trying to find out if lyme can reoccur. was diagnosed in 1996, treated with doxycyclene and occcasionally have symptoms; some severe. do you ever really get cured or does the disease lie dormant and reinfect? any insight would be appreciated. my doctor thinks i am depressed which I am, but I know that depression can't possibly be causings all of my symptoms.

Yes, it can relapse, especially if your first treatment of it wasn't for long enough.

No, but having a chronic infection like Lyme can cause depression. [Frown]

My hope is remission, but I will probably deal with this infection off and on (more off I hope [Smile]

Absolutely, and Lyme causes depression. Keep reading and find an LLMD if you don't have one!
