Hi Starr:

I was reading your post. You said you are allergic to most meds. What have you taken for the lyme then?

Like you I'm allergic to almost all meds out there, that is the problem they are running into.

I'm seeing an allergist, but even she is having a problem finding one for me.

My god what do people do like me that can't take meds???

Thank you
Julie

Hi,

I have a true allergy to Penicillin, so I cannot take this, I also cannot take the Cespaphlorin's, at least the 2nd generation, such as Ceftin, I tried it and was allergic,

When I was at my worst with lyme, I was allergic to ALL antibiotics, maybe I should say sensitive? I had my throat swell, and so what

I did was start with 1/4 cap or 1/2 cap or tablet and work up, I herxed at day 4 or so, and then I was able to increase the antibiotics,

BECAUSE the herx had killed some lyme and that made me less sensitive to the antibitoics.

I did this because I had a dream to do it, yes, it was a dream that helped me immensely, told me to start off with 1/3 or 1/4 antibiotic and work up.

I did this and here I am, back on full dose antibitoics.

This is what worked for me, it may not work for you.

Lyme can be IN the throat, and can make SOME of us react to the antibiotic because of lyme, once the lyme is better, then the reaction to antibiotics goes away.

I cannot take penicillin, this is a true allergy from birth, and also they say that some who have a true allergy to Penicillin can react to the Cesaphlorin's as they are made from Fungus, and penicillin is from mold.

I have read that 3rd generation may be ok of Cespaphlorin for me, but I say MAY not sure, have not tried it.

Hope this helps,

Trish
