I"m seeing an allergist as I"m allergic to all meds for Lyme. They will start with Celor, take a pill and pray for two hours while we wait to see if I have a reaction or not. they are having a hard time with me regarding what pill I can take and can't take. Like he said if I could take the damn pills two months ago when I was bitten, I would be on the road to recovery...Its only been 2.5 months since this happend. Hopefully they can find a pill to work on me..
I'm having blood drawn this week and sending it to Igenex. The Basic Western Blot IgG, IgM. I've had 5 lyme tests all negative.
What do others do that are allergic to meds???
Thank you Julie

There are plenty of people here who choose to heal with safer, alternative methods and many are having great success, myself included.
Most all of us have used drugs at some point, but there are many well educated, caring doctors out here who believe modern medicine is causing our chronic conditions.
How is it you are allergic to all drugs? Have you taken many drugs in your lifetime?
If you want to find a doctor who will help you find healing outside of drugs, look for a doctor who is a member of ACAM. www.acam.org
These doctors have gone back to school to learn other, safer methods of healing.

Luvstoride, would you be able to provide a few more links so I may read up on these alternative methods? I went to the ACAM website but it seems more directed to doctors or finding a doctor.
Thanks.

Yes, after my Hyst. In 2002 I got a pelvic infection that went on for a year. They had me on Zitromax (reacted after 2 months). Cipro (one pill) almost killed me. Sulfa drugs I break out in hives within an hour. Pencillin, hives within an hour, believe me I've dealt with this for over 10 years. I was lucky that I have not had to take anything for many many years until this.
Thank you for the link. J

Hi, Julie -
Your 5 negative Lyme tests are not surprising. Often, antibodies to the Lyme bug do not show up on tests for as long as 6 weeks after infection. I'm so glad you are doing Igenex testing - you have obviously been doing your homework.
If you do not wish to consider any kind of `alternative' treatment, just ignore the rest of this post.
Like you, I have odd or adverse reactions to many meds, and even most herbs and some supplements.
Homeopathy is an alternative system of medicine that has been around for 200 years, and still works. If done properly, it is gentle and very safe. I've not heard of anyone allergic to homeopathic remedies. I think Luvs2Ride will attest to how instrumental homeopathy was in her recovery process.
The trick with homeopathy is finding an experienced practitioner, and especially one that has experience with Lyme Disease. Just like finding an LLMD who understands Lyme Disease.
If you have only been infected for short period of time, your chances of recovery are really excellent.
If you are interested in homeopathy, please drop me a Private Message and I can perhaps help you find a practitioner. I know of one homeopath with considerable Lyme Disease experience who can work with you over the phone or online.
