My son, who had Lyme in 2002 and is now being reevaluated, has a very deformed barrel chest. Now that I am trying to connect the dots for all of his symptoms (food allergies, joint pain, anxiety..) I am wondering if the rib/chest deformity could be related. I have read of others having rib pain but am wondering about the barrel chest. Thanks. --Judy

Hi Judy.
I don't have a barrel chest, but I do have barrel shaped lungs thanks to scoliosis
That went undiagnosed and untreated. Have you had your son checked for that?
Scoliosis can also cause a slight tilt to the heart which can make an ekg a little off.
An experienced cardiologist will see this immediately and ask if your son has scoliosis.
Hope this helps...
