I was posting this topic for people who have had major improvemnets or recovered after having neurological lyme. I have previously been on Rocephin for 6 weeks and had to have 2 PICC lines pulled because of fungal infections.
Because of this the LLMD will not put me back on rocephin. I have also been on zithromax, biaxin, and doxycycline without any improvements. My doctor wants me to take diflucan for 60 days to see if I improve.
This is a treatment that has been proven sucessful is the past but has not had any further research done on it. If this fails he wants to try me on vancomycin, the drug Dr. B says is a drug of last resort.
I know there are probably other options out there and would love to hear opinions.
Thanks, Lindsay

Was Rocephin working? If so , why not stick with a cephalosporin and switch to an oral version, such as Cedax. I like the idea of diflucan too.

What worked the best for me was Minocycline in combination with Rifampin and Plaquenil for cognitive issues and gave me great improvement with the 24/7 vertigo I had for 4 continuous years.
Rocephin helped me to get out of bed. I graduated to a recliner. It helped with twitching, jerking, numbness, hearing, tingling, vibrating, spatial disorientation and I'm sure the list goes on, but didn't make me very functional.
I did it in combination with many other antibiotics though. Never alone. Always with a macrolide and a cyst buster at least.
I guess it depends on what type of neuro issues.
Bartonella, IMO, seems to be responsible for many neuro issues.

Thanks for all your replies. My mental ability seened to improve on rocephin but I was also on flagyl which made me herx so badly. I am switching LLMD's soon because my doctor doesnt use that many drugs. My current LLMD also thinks I need IV because I have been sick for 12 years.

this combo hit me the most in the neuro department when I was doing IV: clindamyacin + zith + plaqinel ..(sp?) I believe you can do the oral version of these as they come in oral form. It also gave me the most improvement, the herx's where really brutal though.
hope your feeling better soon Dana
none of the above is medical advice...just my 2 cents
