I have been herxing now since Sat night and I can definatley say that its been one of the toughest things I have ever been through in my life. Outside of all the other flu like symptoms, I have been having this awful back pain. Its soo bad that its difficult to walk upright. Does anyone else have this symptom while on a herx? and has anyone noticed how dark their urine is while herxing? mine is allmost brown in color. Any ideas or thoughts ? My doc just put me on Prednisone and Promethazine. I hope I dont have any bad reactions to these drugs while herxing [dizzy]

I have never been on either of these meds, but I have heard that

Babesia can make your urine dark. My back has definately hurt

on herxs before. I think part of it could be kidneys?? Drink lots

and lots of water. I'm not a Dr. Hope you feel better soon.

Your post raised multiple concerns!!!

Dark urine and back pain suggest potential kidney involvement. Dark urine can also be a sign of liver damage. It can also just be caused by drugs or supplements. Have you reported this to a doctor? If not, do so ASAP.

Why did your doctor put you on prednisone? Prednisone is a steroid and is counter-indicated with Lyme and any infection. Steroids weaken the immune system and allow the infection to become stronger.

Yes, I get back pain with a herx. But with your urine symptoms, I would not just assume it is a herx. I would talk to my doctor about getting a urine culture done to make sure it's not a kidney infection.
