Hi, all. I posted before on detox for my son, and Gigi (and others) were nice enough to suggest chlorella.
However, my 2 year old will not take the biopure tablets, and when I crush them and mix in with his food, he won't eat it.
Any ideas? I think biopure probably has a powder, which would be easier to mix with things, but what will drown out the taste so he'll take it?
My thoughts: since he's off milk (possible casein allergy), we've been giving him rice milk, and plan to mix in coconut milk for the healthy fats.
Maybe the coconut / rice milk mixture will drown out the chlorella taste if I stir some in?
Any suggestions?
Thanks!

It's known as a chlorella smoothie. Put it in a small blender with banana, any juice - a mango juice is thick - you can hide it in almost anything he likes to eat or drink, unless he is really fussy about green. Am not sure if Biopure has the powder - I used it years ago, but it is not easy to control - it is very fine and not always easy to mix in. Maybe get a mortar to crush the tablets or get the best quality you can find in capsules and empty them into foods.
Probably best to mix it in food rather than juice, because that way he gets the fiber which is very important for tummy health.
You could contact the DAN group - these moms know how to do almost anything, and I am certain you will get a lot of good general info also.
"Super Baby Foods" = good cookbook
Contact www.nurseandi.com - she has treated many, many children. I am sure you can give you other tips.
Put it - finely crused with mortar into any of the baby puddings, etc.
Hope this helps.

I gave my 2 year old in honey. It still took some time for her to accept it, now she craves for it.
I do a mix with honey + chlorella + lin oil (flaxseed oil?) + bear garlic tincture as a base and add other things that she would need (like propolis, bee polen or other tinctures).
I give this mixture every day for more than a year, she'll be soon turning 4.
I buy chlorella now in powder, much faster than to crush it every day. In times of lyme, I gave her 2-3 times a day, sometimes substituted with sporopolenin (easier taste).
I also added chlorella to her milk bottle, but I'm not sure this is recommendable (as I don't remember anymore if milk + chlorella are compatible).
Good luck! Selma

Ah, another technique was trade. I traded it in the beginning for something she loved (sweets usually) and it worked!
The trick is to make kids get used to the taste of it. Once this happens, things get easy.

If you can, throw out an EMPTY bottle of the chlorella and let him see you do it. He doesn't hav to know that Dad stole the tabs out of it and is throwing away an empty bottle.
It may be easier that way, he may not be so hesitant to eat. Maybe... maybe not. Just a suggestion.
Does that stuff taste really horrible? You can make him a sugar free milkshake and put it in there.
