i haven't posted in some time, and i believe my last topic was the same only this time instead of complaining about how bad my legs and feet burn i am here to tell you i have found something that really helps. I have started with Murphy's pain clinic here in Louisville KY and they are wonderful. anyway, once a week i go in for a lidocaine IV. It is very simple and all they do is put it in you, it takes about 2 minutes and then they have you lay there for a while until you feel you are ok to get up and walk. i guess it effects everyone diffrent because i always feel fine, like i could get up right away, but they still make me lay there a good 20 minutes.
OK, I thought, her we go , another treatment, another bogus clinic trying to make money off me....wrong...they are AWESOME. Not only that, they are cheap so my insurance company doesn't mind paying and even if they said no i would fined a way to do it, they are only 60.00 a treatment so don't let any clinic try and make a ton off you. I feel like i was sent to an angel!!!!!! The 2 doctors who run the clinic are all about trying to help people become as pain free as possible and have as much quality to life as possible. I have been going about 2 months. I have had 7 treatments. On a scale from 1-10 with 10 being the worst pain possible, my legs and feet were at a 8 sometimes 9. I had gotten to where it hurt for sheets to touch my feet at night. I would have to say they are now about a 2-4 depending on what I did that day. SO ask your doctors if they have heard of lidocaine IV for pain. If they won't listen or blow you off they either don't know about it or are jerks. It is awesome and there are NO side effects. lidocaine is what they give women epiderals with, or what they put on you topically before they stich up a cut.
Sorry this got so long, but sometimes we need good news. I have been walking around in pain for sooooooooo long I wanted to share. We are benifiting from the diabetic research on nueropathy pain but hey, whatever works right now.
peace,
kathy
