I need some help understading ILADS and WB Bands.
Does ILADS even consider bands #41 and 58??
Those are the only two bands which showed up for me w/ Quest Labs.
I know I need Igenex and am pushing docs to do that for me.
However, if a LLMD/ILADS doc took a look at my labwork with just these two bands, what would I expect him to say??
I am waiting on pins and needles for the call back from him; but in the meantime, I would like to know more about what ILADS guidelines are.
After googling it, I saw one report that said 41 and 58 arent recognized by ILADS. So, I am highly confused at this point. Did I misread that??
My bands were IGG, if that helps at all.
Thanks for the help with this very confusing disease, everyone ~ and thank you for being so patient with me.

"ILADS" is a group of lyme-literate doctors. They don't judge you based on bands, really -- just test to back up their clinical judgment.
I think what you MEAN is CDC.
That's the huge bloated government organization that pretends to "monitor" the spread and extent of lyme, while grossly underestimating it.
The CDC requires certain bands to report that you have lyme for purposes of being "counted."
Your particular bands would not cause you to be counted because while they can and often ARE present in lyme, they are not specific only to lyme.
However, an IGeneX test certanly could reveal MANY more lyme specific bands.
Labs like the one you used don't even test for two of the most specific lyme bands, 31 and 34 - so specific they were used to make the failed vaccine.
However, keep in mind that having had antibiotics for a while, you might now test negative.
Having a positive IgG by IGeneX can mean present infection, contrary to what "ducks" will tell you.
It's important to see an LLMD, who knows this stuff.
NOT a duck.
Don't ever be shy about asking ANY questions here. That's how you learn!

According to Dr C of MO in the above link, "The significant antibodies, in my opinion, are the 18, 23-25, 28, 30, 31, 34, 39, 58, 66 and 93."
Be sure to read the link including the replies to it. One of the replies explains the significance of band 41.

Excellent info from Melanie and tutu but I want to add that some LLMD's (mine included) give antibiotics (abx) for a short period and re-test. This can sometimes turn seronegative into positive.
My IgM turned IgeneX positive after using abx per my LLMD's instructions. I think you need to be taking specific abx. I was on minocycline. I'm sure there are other abx that work too but I'm not sure what they all are. This would be something to discuss with an LLMD.
People who have been give abx immediately after a bite may never test positive even though they have lyme from what I've read.
Also, there are many seronegative people who were later proven to have lyme disease which is why you need an LLMD to evaluate you. Lyme is a clinical diagnosis.
