Hi All,

Looking for Lymp Node behavior in others.

Not just if your lymph nodes swell up, but how? Fast, slowly, painful or not...

How long does it last, how long between the swells, or is it constant thing?

Thanks in advance...

My lymphnodes go up and down. I notice that the worse I feel the bigger they get.

One of my first symptoms were HUGE, painless lymph nodes in my groin. I later noticed a swelling under my jaw, sort of where my jaw meets my neck. The ones in my groin remained enlarged for a very long time - years.

Some of the nodes eventually went down somewhat, but a couple of them still remain rubbery and enlarged.

Many people here have had theirs biopsied, but doctors refused to biopsy mine. Hopefully someone else here can give you more info. But just so you know, mine never hurt - I test positive for both Lyme and now babs.

Most of mine hurt, some don't

You can't tell if it is cancer related based on if there is pain or not.

In my previous bout with Lyme and Erlichia, my lymph nodes in my armpits would swell up once in a blue moon and be very painful, but it was not one of my worst symptoms.

This time however, they are acting differently.

For the last 6 months, they would swell up and be very painful, but this would travel from my left to my right armpit.

About a month ago, the pain in my armpits completely went away for a week. Unfortunately, it then turned into discomfort.

Now, I just feel like I have air pockets in my armpits when I put my arm down. Not painful, but uncomfortable, and sometimes it feels like they burn.

I had never had them this way before, and I was trying to compare with others. All of my other symptoms that have returned are just like they used to be. This one is just worrying me more.

I told my doctor, and he said it was probably just an infected hair follicule. [confused]

I've been having bouts of lymph node swelling. But mine are the two in my neck and the worst one is under my right arm pit which gets HUGE. Enough that I can't put my arm down to its side.

My LLMD felt it was due to the bartonella, but wanted it checked with my PCP who decided I should go in for another mamogram and then said all looked fine and here I sit.

One thing I had read here that I thought was insane but I swear it works, is when it's really really swollen, if you go jump on a rebounder, it honestly will be down by the next morning.

Since I'm still weak, I hold on to the wall and never allow my feet to leave the rebounder, so basically I'm just moving in an up and down.

I did it the first time, thinking the post was insane, but what did I have to lose and hey, it was probably good for my circulation, but it does take them down until they swell back up again.

My lymph nodes have been going up and down since all this started about 10 years ago. It started with the ones in my arm pits, mainly the left one. They wouldn't really hurt but felt like I was being pinched. Docs weren't worried and tests showed no infection. This went on for a few years then pretty much stopped.

Then in 2004 I got really sick from what we determined finally was Lyme. The lymph nodes under my arms again began to swell and this time the ones in my groin joined in. Was treated and after about a year all settled down again.

I had a relapse in late 2005 this time the ones in my neck swelled along with those in my groin but not the arm pits. None were really painful just a kind of pinching feeling again. They settled down again with abx treatment.

Began another relapse about a month ago and the ones in my neck and groin have been swelling up and down ever since. They are doing it as I type this yet there was no swelling all day until about two hours ago. All I can think off is when I over do it and get run down they flair up.

To answer the timing question they seem to swell for a few hours usually then let up and then repeat over and over till what ever causes it settles down. I will tell you though I hate when it happens.

I get mild pain in the armpit area.

When this happens my pec muscles tighten up and it gives me back pain in the shoulder area.

When my groin lymph nodes flair up, my stomach muscles tighten up, which makes it hard to straighten my back, and I get lower back pain.

I had massive lymph node swelling from about two weeks into Lyme- an ER doctor told me that he had never seen it except with cancer or end-stage AIDS like that- but it was Lyme & coinfections. Bartonella is known for making this happen chronically-

Best wishes,
Sarah

[hi] My nodes ate enlarged most time. Sometimes at night wakes me up can feel them getting large.
Some come to pimple type not all the time.

They itch at first then start to hurt, I swear my ears are sticking out further, because thought no 1 noticed till friend did she thought it was from earings/NOT..

Get in groin painful, yrs, back actually put me in hosp to remove from under my arm thinking I had cancer.NADDA..Hmmmm What we have been through with so many mis Dx-es....

DO not fear all my patients but 1 had same problem with nodes.
We are toxic & all blocks up.
That is where if you have money, helps.

I have always said, massage in AM & 1 at night I would be doing better. Said, when 1st became ill still feel it is important, release the lymph node, keep them unblocked.

That is why many become ill after massage sorta like Herx. reaction. Why is best to have at home.

This was one of my first symptoms, the ones in my groin went up and have stayed up since this started. They just get a little big and then bigger. However the ones in my neck and arm pits get inflamed when somethings going on in my system. Usually get some kind of virus or thrush when this happens.

No other nodes seem to be involved but under my arms. It's the pits!

So have any of you had these swollen lymph nodes under the arms and after awhile, they went down and didn't come back? And if so, how long were you on treatment before that happened?
