I constantly have a feeling that there is a lump in my throat. I can drink and eat without problem but swallowing my saliva is strenuous. I was wandering if anyone else had that feeling.

Yes, I have it off and on for the past 4 years. It did get a lot better on doxy but then I had to go off abx for a time due to elevated liver enzymes and the lump came back.
I went to an Ear, Nose and Throat specialist for the lump and because my throat feels like it's swollen all the time. Also swelling in my lymph node on one side right under my ear.
He took sinus scans and looked at my throat. Said my lingual tonsils (tonsils on the tongue) were swollen and throat was red. He cultured my throat. It came back negative. My sinuses had some thickening of the wall.
He decided these were all related to a dry throat and wanted me to take prescription medication. The medication he prescribed can cause my orthostatic hypotension and edema to get worse so another one of my doctors advised against it.
I've read that the sinuses can be a protected niche for borrelia. I don't know if that's true or not but I feel that my throat issues are probably related to lyme and/or possibly bartonella.
Have you talked to your doctor about the throat problem? Probably a good idea to get a work up just to make sure it's nothing else like a recognized, treatable infection or some other problem.
Sorry you have this symptom. It can be very uncomfortable. Seems like I've read of others here with this symptom too.
PS - if your throat has a lump and/or feels swollen - keep an eye out for sleep apnea since breathing could be impaired.

Thyroid was tested and normal. This was one of the gazillion test I had. It does however feel like a goiter but it was normal.

Also, consider GERD, gastric reflux disease. This feeling in the throat is a symptom of that as well. You might not even know it, but stomach acids can be traveling up the esophagus and causing irritation and swelling in the throat.
In my case, I didn't have much in the way of heartburn, but had the throat symptoms. This can actually contribute to sleep apnea as well. Before I figured out I had this, I had a sleep study which showed sleep apnea. But it was caused by swelling in the throat from GERD. Hopefully getting this under control will improve the sleep apnea, but time will tell.
Idiot doc didn't even mention this as a possibility, and I figured it out myself. Of course, at the time he was anxious to schedule me at his sleep clinic to make a little money first. Live and learn.
What perplexes me is why we must constantly be responsible for diagnosing ourselves? Aren't doctors supposed to connect those dots for us?

Just like Cali Lyme. It was a horrible feeling, I had a lot of relief on my 400 mgs doxy. It went away very quickly after I began treatment (within 3-4 weeks, after 6 mos solid of the symptom). It's one of the few symptoms I've never even had a smidge of recurrence with (hope I didn't curse myself just there).
