3 months biaxin, 3 months zith. Need to be very careful timing the antifungal with the macrolides as the effectiveness of the antifungal is reduces with the macrolide in your stomach.

I took nizoral when I invused and the macrolide 4 hours or so later. 6 AM/10 AM and 6 PM/10 PM.

I figured this out on my own. The home nurse wanted the line pulled due to fungal conditions at the site. Once I got the timing down and went well.

Hi!

It depends on where your signs and symptoms are and what shape your immune system is in.

Also, the antibiotics and combinations today may be different from a year or two ago--depends on what your LLMD recommends.

I did IV Rocephen for 6 months plus Biaxin (clarithromycin) for 5 months immediately followed by Biaxin and LA Bicillin intramuscular shots in the butt 3 times a week for 6 months.

Now I am still getting more of the shots, plus biaxin, 500 mg, 2-twice a day but only mon-wed-fri (pulsing) and flagyl 3 times a day only on sat-sun (pulsing.) B12 shots 3 times a week. Nystatin, three times a day.

I take plenty of probiotics and other supplements,

I am miles better.

With my IV Rocephin, I was also on Zith 600mg 4 days per week, and Flagyl 250mg 3 times per day for 3 days per week.

After 5 months Rocephin, I was switched to Bicillin LA 1.2 3 times per week and continued on Zith and Flagyl.

I am ONLY on IV Rocephin! Thought this was strange from recalling previous experiences. Wonder why!? [confused]

Ask your doctor Cj if you are still wondering why?

Everytime a new protocal is prescribed your doc should explain the reasoning.

I just came off IV Rocephin-but while I was on it, I also took pulsed flagyl, rifampin, and mino.

Now I am on Omnicef and Rifampin.
