I know we all respond differently to different treatments, however, I seem to have a stubborn case. I've been ill for nearly 9 years, and have been on lots of treatments. I have most recently been using NMT, however, I've had no response after a dozen sessions. I'm trying to decide what treatment I may try next.
1. I have signed up for a class in Immune Response Training offered by Allergy Alternatives- would anyone care to share their experience?
2. I've also been researcing HBOT, for some time, however, I am leary about putting my savings into a treatment, knowing how many treatments I have tried that have worked for others, but not for me.
3. I have been using Chinese medicine for about 6 months or so- my lyme doc. recommended a doc. in VT, and he takes has me boil down twigs, and trinkets. I'm not feeling any better, but I don't know how long it may take to feel the affects.
4. The only relief that I can find for my arthritis is from Prednisone-10mg/day. I have tried to taper over the years, and even supp. with TNF drugs, OTC's, narcotics, supplements, diet, vitamins/minerals etc., but no luck. Unfortunately, the side effects are a problem. By taking Pred. I also then need to take abx., which means I need to take pro-biotics, and anti-fungals, and I still have yeast. I'd love to find another solution.
5. Anti-depressants- I have tried various anti-dep. for anxiety/depression. I can't afford to see a psychiatrist who specializes in treating Lyme pt.s, but I wondered if there are any a.d's that seem to be better for lyme pt.s? I've tried: Welbutrin SR, XL Prozac Celexa Cymbalta Paxil Neurontin Clonazapam (anxiety) and a few others that I can't think of.
I'm at a point where, I know that there are some RX's that are necessary, but I'm getting ready to talk to my doctor, to see if we can make a plan. The biggest catch, is my relentless yeast- which is tied to the anti-fungals and antibiotics, which is tied to the Prednisone.
Anyone have some thoughts? Rife machine? Salt and C? Infared Saunas?
Thanks gang-

I only have experience with Rife machines so that is what I will address.
They have cured very few and possibly none. They have improved symptoms for many but not all users.
My wife has been greatly improved, but we have not been able to cure it with just the Rife machine. She is as normal as anyone most of the time. If she is not treated regularly her joint pain starts to come back. I am sure the rest of her old symptoms would follow without more treatment.
It can be a useful treatment, and I am sure there are many others also.

I know you said you have been ill for 9 years... is 9 years how long you have been treating?

I have been treating the Lyme for about 5.5 years.
I'm glad to hear that the Rife machine is offering some relief.

if you werent treated for coinfections I would want to be at least tested for them after 5.5 yrs of treatment.
Before i knew my symptoms where from lyme i had taken predisone for asthma in breif periods and it made my lyme much worse (although it did help the astma) steriods suppress the immune system.
Are you sure the predisone is a really benefical medication? is your llmd prescribing it?
another thought you said you tried diet does that mean you was tested for food allergies especially gluten... gluten intolerance is found in celiac disease which has overlapping symptoms with lyme.
The other thing i was thinking is you say that despite probotics and anti fungals you still have yeast. Symptoms of yeast also overlap lyme symptoms.
I am not sure exactly what you have been doing but does your dr think that maybe you need some form of detox?

"Have you tried antibiotics???" Yes- many times.
"Prednisone usually makes Lyme disease worse. You will be able to knock down the inflammation and the infection with antibiotics." Yes- that is one reason why I posted saying that I'd like to be off of them.
I have been treated for co-infections.
"Are you sure the predisone is a really benefical medication? is your llmd prescribing it?"
yes- it's the only drug I've found that manages my arthritis enough to not struggle with day to day activity, and yes my LLMD is prescribing it, because we can't find another way to control the arthritis pain. I mentioned in my original post that b/c I'm taking pred. I'm also on abx., which has given me lots of problems with yeast. Then when I take Diflucan, I seem to herx or feel crumby from the a.) Lyme b.) Abx c.) yeast or d.) other. I'm quite sure that at least some of my symptoms yeast- no question
Thanks for the ideas.

After treating for that long I would think you have alot of cysts so that could mean you need Flagyl.
I know some people that will take an antibiotic for each form of the borrelia together. I also remember Wildcondor would take her ABx and then get in a hot tub or sauna. Heat makes the abx alot morre powerful and the heat alone can kill borrelia (103-106F) It will also detox as well.

Have you considered switching from prednisone to hydrocortisone?
I believe it is much more supportive of the immune system, and less conducive to yeast.
There are many posts on hydrocortisone, cortisol, and cortef.
