I saw my LLMD yesterday and although the time before, he was saying perhaps I could get off abx's after only a year, but with the last month that I've had, it wasn't a pleasant appointment since I wasn't connected to my brain even slightly.
In any case, due to many symptoms related to my eyes and nausea, dizziness ..but mostly eyes, he felt that although it could be bart symptoms, he also wondered if in my case they could be cipro side effects so I'm off that med and only taking the Mepron and Zith for now.
But my question is.....when your LLMD's have felt it was time to wind things up with the abx before moving to herbs or other treatments, what is the last clean up abx they often feel is a good one to use?
Is it backwards with a med you may have taken early on in the treatment to see if you still struggle with it as you did when you were first treated, or do they have set meds that would be a good overall med to see how you hold up?
We always hear about the drugs we often start with, but I wondered if anyone can offer suggestions on what are good ending meds and for how long. I've been on bart and babs treatment most of the time and wondered if you clean up with a med more focused strictly on lyme or what?
I know my LLMD will offer his feeling when the time comes, but I always like to have a feel for what others have responded best with. Thanks for any imput.

Sorry to say there isn't one answer to that question as everyone is different... and nothing has been proven effective for all.
It will depend on many factors... mostly your symptoms.
It might help to make a list of the meds you've taken in the past.. and put under each med the symptom it seemed to help the most... if it helped at all... side effects.. etc.
After a while your memory is lost of what did what.. and this list might be helpful later.
