I have been on Levaquin, a dewormer and fluconozale for 3 months now. I was diagnosed with clinical lyme, bartonella (positive blood test) back in September. I have severe tendonitis and stiffness in joint slately worse than ever. Also when I take epson baths I have a strange sensation of things crawling under my skin and even moving my hair around. ALso battling painful soft fatty tissue and lumps? Anyone have suggestions or similar encounters with stiff joints, lipomas, creepy crawly sensation?

Any help would be great!

Yes, I have had creepy crawling sensations, stiff joints, strange lumps on my leg (don't know what it is) and tendinitis.

I had tendinitis on and off for a long time and then got it really bad after I was bitten in 2001 and reinfected.

Tell your LLMD about the tendonitis while taking that abx, it can be a side effect.

I ended up with severe tendinitis after being put on Levaquin for a bladder infection. I had to stop taking it because it was so bad for me.

Hope you feel better soon. [Wink]

=====================

Have you been checked for Morgellons?

I agree, the Levaquin could be causing the tendonitis. It certainly won't help it.

If the tendinitis began on the Levaquin, then I would stop the Levaquin. Levaquin can cause tendon damage and severe tendon pain that can last even after stopping the medication.

ed27:
Levaquin causes tendon damage at any dose, to everybody, as different studies that have been reproduced here by others, show. Some get symptoms and some don't, but we all get injured, in some cases permanently.
There are good non-profit sites were they explain the effects of levaquin and what to expect after a long treatment.
So I would also suggest to stay off the levaquin.

Lyme disease and the coinfections seem to cause the crawly sensations for a lot of people. Much of this seems to be neurological.

Another possibility is Morgellons disease, about which I know very little. You can search on Lymenet for posters with LD who report also having Morgellon's disease.

See the CanLyme site at http://www.canlyme.com/morgellons.html (there are many others)

and http://www.morgellons.org/
