Happy Thanksgiving to All:

I hope everyone has a good thanksgiving.

I was thinking last night. I have so much to be grateful for. Even though I have lyme, I have more then a lot of people in this world.

I have a wonderful new Husband, a loving family, a job, food on my table and a roof over my head. My god there are people in this world that don't even have water to drink. So while I sit here many times feeling sorry for myself I have to stop for a moment each day and "thank god" for the wonderful things I do have.

None of you know anything about me except I have "LYME". I'm also dealing with a terminally ill mother, I am her caregiver and have been for 1 year. When I look at my mom each day when she wakes up, she always has a smile on her face, even knowing it might be her last day on this earth. She has such a positive outlook on life, she is my rock when I should be hers.

So the moral of my long story is; as bad as this gets and yes it gets bad, we should take a moment out of each day and be thankful for the wonderful things we do have in our lifes, and know that we will win this battle.

Julie

Acorn: First I LOVE The name. Yes I try hard to have a great attitude, but at times it can be tuff...lol

Michelle: No my mother is my blessing... [Smile] When I look at her and see how sick she is COPD and bad heart, on oxygen 24-7, I have to stop and think, I only have lyme,I think that she is the one that gets me through this, no pill in the world can do that for me.

Its funny my sister came Tuesday to get my mom for the week (she lives 90 miles from me) to give me a break...So I have this break and I'm bored...lol She takes 30 pills a day, I take 4 and everyday she reminds me to take them...lol

Well I ate way to much and feel sick to my stomach, so I guess its time for bed. Oh and take my pill...lol

Happy Thanksgiving everyone!!!

julie, what an UPPER read! you and your mom have a relationship like my mom and i had before her death 17.5 yrs. ago!

you are special to each other; 1 rubs off on the other. glad you getting RESPITE care for yourself.

yes, we have much to be thankful for, and when you mentioned; we have CLEAN water!

again, thanks for the great reminder on THANKSGIVING day! happy holidays to you/yours.

do you have hospice where you live so you can call them when you no longer can care for her, and they can come to your home to care for her there? they are wonderful folks! [group hug] [kiss]
