A MRA is like a MRI except it looks at the blood vessels.

I had one and the results came back normal. WHich urprised me. have such head pressure all the time. Sometimes I feel like I cant turn my head. Or like my brain is tring to squeeze out of my skull.
But anyways, they just put you in a mask and under the tunnel for about 20 minutes. Then they inject dye into your arm. I had no reac tion to this. Didnt feel it at all, like I did with the cat scan.

My son had an MRI, MRV & MRA. He had normal results. He has pseudo-tumor cerebri.
Your doctor has recommended you for either magnetic resonance imaging (MRI), for magnetic resonance angiography (MRA) or for magnetic resonance venography (MRV) of your head. All of these procedures use a magnetic field, radio waves and a computer to create detailed images, which our team of specialist physicians can use to distinguish normal, healthy tissue and diseased tissue. The MRA and MRV are specifically designed to examine your blood vessels.

I had on just a few months ago. My llmd wanted to check for blockages (blood clots) because of the edema I had/have trunk & legs.
Had full body, head to toe...everything fine.
BTW-lost 15lbs of fluid since with a power plate machine. Still have 15lbs to go to be back to ideal weight.

I had one due to my dilated and fixed pupil. I believe the doctors were looking for a clot or aneurism(sp?).

omg - I've been herxing a lot lately and generally feeling way better - but I've noticed one of my pupils sometimes dilates big and stays wide even when the other one contracts!
Is this bad? Is it a sign of a blocked vessel or anyeurism? Anyone know?
