Hey Guys,

Along with crunchy ears I a have bleeding ones. I have had this for about 6 months.

Started before hyperbaric oxygen.

I saw an ent at that time and they told me I probably scraped my ear in my sleep..ha! Anyways....

Help someone...Why are my ears bleeding??

If it's an infection would'nt the IV meds be knockin it out??

Freaked out..

HELP

Jennifer

I burst my left eardrum before I was diagnosed with Lyme; my doctor found blood in that ear. One doctor told me my ears were 'injected', as opposed to infected - whatever that means.

Are you using a cordless phone or cell phone?

I guess I wasn't clear if the bleeding was coming from inside the ear canal or the tissue bleeding on the outside.

If it is continueing to bleed from inside, something is WRONG. This is not normal and I think you need to see a different ENT.

If you have an ear infection that is not susceptable to the IV abx you are on, you will continue to have an ear infection until it is treated with the proper antibiotic.

Aside from untreated chronic infection, it can be caused by head trauma , ruptured eardrum, tumor, or a vascular problem.

Bleeding in the ear needs attention and should not be ignored.

I agree with pineapple I would definetely seek another medical opinion. Does your dr know about the bleeding in your ears. At the very least I would call him. Maybe see a specialist.

Best wishes [group hug]

My ears also bleed, no clue why, but it never happened before Lyme. Doctors seems to think that my ears look fine so who knows.

FINALLY-after a year of asking LLMD's, ENT's I have found out what the hell is wrong with my ears!!

I asked the medical team at the hyperbaric treatment center to culture the ear just to make sure I did'nt have any sort of infection, and what do you know...I have a damn staph infection in my ear!!!!!!!!

Good news is though I hope to feel better now and hopefully I can get better without having to fight a staff infection along with Lyme and Babesia!!!

I have had it for SOOOOO long...OMG!!!!!!!!!!!!!

Does any body know about staph infections???

My ears don't bleed, but I keep getting these werid pimples in and on my ears. They really hurt.

Another thing thats strange, every once and a while a blood vessel breaks on the pinna portion of the ear (wing like part). My ear becomes hot and red.
