Our entire family of 4 is being treated by a wonderful LLMD who

we've seen for 3 yrs. The Dr. just recommended Flagyl, 125mg

3x daily for our 11 yr old who has been on Zithromax and

Mepron for more than a year and tolerated that well, but has

begun having visual perception problems, ADD symptoms,

mood swings, and academic issues suddenly in the last 3 months.

Please anyone with feedback about Flagyl (positive or negative)

post your experience! I was on it last year and reached a point

where I had to quit my job from the herxing and moved to

Cowen's herbal protocol. I haven't returned to work since.

Flagyl caused terrible issues for me and though I trust our LLMD,

I want to get some feedback before I start this in the smallest of

increments for our 11 yr old. Thanks to all in advance!

My four and six year olds just started flagyl about a month ago.

Due to size, they only take 50mg a day for three days a week.

The rest of the week they are taking zithromax.

I also pulse flagyl with doxy.

I have noticed them herxing, but it is more complaints of body pain,

Heaviness of limbs and some mild behavioral issues.

My neighbor's son, who is 8, takes 125mg once a day 3 x a week. He weighs about 80 lbs.

Hope this helps some.

Hugs,

Geneal

On my 6th dose of Flagyl, I had an allergic reaction wherein my throat closed up. Scary.

My poodle has just been put on Flagyl. When I saw that, I had to bite my tongue to not ask questions like "Should I expect her to experience severe headaches or other symptoms?"

On a more humorous side, I bit my tongue again to keep from asking if I should keep her off alcohol while on this drug.

Seriously, I would be very hesitant to put my children on this drug. Would the Cowden protocol be indicated for them?

Try that which is safe first.

Thanks for the feedback. I just spoke with my LLMD and as I had

hoped we reexamined the need for flagyl for my kids and he felt

we could be just as effective if not more with beginning the

Cowden protocol, very slowly. I with just 2 herbs I started the

protocol after my experience with flagyl last June).

Baby steps. I hope your children are progressing and feeling

better with the flagyl as I know many, many people have

Be sure to be persistent with your LLMD about making the time

they are on it short as it eventually can start doing damage

if used "too long", which is what happened to me with my liver.

Take good care & Thanks for the support and advice.

luvs2ride,

Thanks for the info & support.

I'm sorry about your puppy, and I know what you mean! My

parents 2 dogs are using herbs and on 1/128th dose of herbs

and we say the same thing! God bless em' - cause they can't tell

us!! (That's why I say Veterinarians are underrated!)

Thanks for the smile and hope your dog is feeling better and you

are making progress!

Take good care
