I had a blood sample tested under a microscope, and it showed the presence of Lyme bacteria in my blood. Does anyone know the best way to confirm this result? I am in Colorado and the Doctors here know nothing about Lyme.
Thanks!

With THAT info,,chances are you DO have it!!
Find the BEST LLMD you can get to and see. Canonray,
Tests are bad, sxs are the only way of dx. BUT an LLMD can draw blood properly AND send to Igenex,,,best test available,,,still NOT perfect.
But dont use CDC positive criteria tho,,,thats BAD info, seek positive results as posted at top of board!!
YOU dont mention your present sxs??? And they are??? Hope this helps and is what you are looking for!! How long have you been infected???probably???hopeful for YOU--just don--

tracy from colorado will pop in i'm sure. post in SEEKING DRS. for a LLMD, lyme literate md; yes, colorado does have a FEW llmds!! 2 closed shop lately due to one's health.
i'm sending you my newbie package of 82 pages of links, advise, symptoms list, testing, disability, and much more including treepatrol's archive link of over 1000 links of good lyme info!
i'd send the samples to FRYE LAB in arizona; see my newbie package for more info.
use the EDIT, FIND, and type in FRYE LAB to get info!
pms are found at top of left hand side under HELLO by flashing light and in my profile!

Current sxs are shortness of breath and overall weakness, persistent cough, recently tingling/numbness in fingers, fairly severe joint/hand pain. Went to accupuncturist for relief of hand pain, and she suggest blood examination for Lyme. Thanks for the help.

It wasn't really a "lab". I was a naturopath who does live blood exams as part of her nutrition analysis.

"Using a microscope to find the Lyme bacteria is quite literally like looking for a needle in a haystack. The Borrelia burgdorferi organism is found in such low numbers in fluids and tissue that it requires hours and hours of lab time to do an adequate search of just a few millimeters of tissue. As a research tool biopsy and stain is useful, but to use microscopy to diagnose Lyme is too slow, too costly, and quite unreliable."
You might consider getting an IGeneX blood test to truly confirm your diagnosis.
