my ears have really been bothering me the last couple of days. i have bad pain and pressure.

one night i felt a very bad stabbing sensation in my left ear and the entire side of my face hurt. i used a q-tip and gently put it in my ear and it came out bloody.

my right ear just feels like a ton of pressure inside it, but no blood.

i think my eardrum might have ruptured in my left ear.

how does lyme affect the ears and has aybody had problems with their ears?

I've had ear pain right along with the face, head and neck pain for a few years now. Which is why for the longest time I thought I had chronic sinusitis.

It does in fact at times feel like the eardrum has ruptured. Been very bad the last 3 days or so.

Nowadays I take one of the pain meds my LLMD prescribed. Some days not even that helps.

I'd be grateful for any suggestions, myself.

I would definatley consult your Dr. You shouldn't get blood in your ear.

Hope you feel better soon.

We sure have to put up with a lot of "stuff" don't we.

I have constant pain and pressure in my ears. Went to an ENT guy last year and he could find nothing wrong. It seems to have affected my hearing also.

I have a lot of ear problems as well. My ears ache, they ring, and they just feel congested most of the time.

This is by far the worst of my remaining symptoms.

First rule of thumb is to never, ever stick anything inside your ear

Canal smaller than your elbow. [Big Grin]

You could have ruptured your ear drum, but usually you see yellowish, thick, drainage

With maybe some blood in it. Please go and have your ear looked at by a doctor asap.

I too have sometimes stabbing pains in my ears, but no blood.

No wax. Nothing. Just pain.

Hope you feel better soon.

Hugs,

Geneal

Have your ear cultured.

Mine bled for 6 months, ENT said I was on too many antibitotics to get an ear infection so never cultured it.

Anyways, just had the LLMD's at Chico Hyperbrics culture it and they found a staph infection that I have probably had for plus months.

Now I am getting MRI's, a bone scan and more IV drugs to treat it.

GET IT CULTURED

Can not stress this enough.

Good luck

Jen

Agree with Jen, get it cultured!!!

As for the sensations in your face, ear and hearing issue, the bacteria can and often gets to the facial nerves. These nerves can affect the sensations and even hearing. They can also effect the nerves of your voice, swallowing, etc.

Bells Palsy is due to nerve attack too.

But the blood factor is of concern you should see a dr!!!! IMO!
