I just recently started getting B-12 shots and have had 2 so far.

After the first one, two wks ago, I actually felt good for a couple days, then I started hurting EVERYWHERE the following week.

I got my 2nd shot this last Wednesday and that night I felt absolutely "yuck". At one point, I seriously thought we were going to have to call the ambulance..AGAIN!!

But it passed after about an hour or so... But now, I am again in so much pain I just want to scream!!

My back and neck are killing me, every joint in my body is screaming with pain and even my shin bones hurt...

Could this be from the B-12 shots or just another "flare up"??

Is it possible to "herx" from B-12?? I am not on any other meds. so I know its not from anything else..

Help!! [bonk]

I did B-12 shots for a couple of years, and all I remember was they made me feel better. They gave me more energy and helped my brain fog.

I would talk to your doctor tho, don't know if you can have an allergic reaction?

Sorry...wish I could help more.

So sorry you are feeling so rough.

My first suggestion would be not to do that again.

For whatever reason I did terrible with the B-12 shots. I did it 2 times and never again.

I can't say that is what you are experiencing.. but I can say at least one other person has not been able to handle them.

My GUESS is your body is saying not to do it again by that reaction.. at least that is what I think MY body said to me.

It could be an allergy or sensitivity to something in the shots. Maybe try sublingual and see if you get pain?

Thanks for bringing this up; I'm considering B12 shots but don't know yet how to proceed (need to know more than the doctors, of course)...

What kind of B12 did you get? There are different kinds--hydroxycobalamin, cyanocobalamin, methylcobalamin. I don't know if all of them are available for injection. I've heard methyl is good for the brain, but also that it can stir up mercury and take it INTO the brain.

Sounds simple, get B12 shots and feel great, but unfortunaely like everything else, it's more complicated, and the doctors generally aren't up to the task. They go simple on us, and end doing more harm than good. Pathetic...

Hi there--

I tried Methyl B-12 injections and, for whatever reason, they increased the muscle pain in my legs. It was almost as if they were exacerbating the "inflamed" feeling. I wonder, however, now that I've treated for babesia, if I would have the same reaction. My legs definitely do not hurt as bad since I've treated for babesia...

Wow, I also have had 2 B12 shots now and have I had a reaction too...I seem like I feel worse for the first 24 hours and then it goes away.. I am now starting to think I am not so crazy, and it wasn't in my imagination..Maybe I should stop them too?

i never tried the shots, although i am curious.

i used to take sub lingual, but i didnt feel that they did anything but make me feel worse.

odd, because i do regulary use zipfizz as an energy booster (regularly=1-3xweek) and i feel better when i take that, increased energy, etc.

zipfizz has 40000% times your daily allotment of b12, so its similar to the shots (even if in a small fashion)

im not pimping zipfizz here, just getting side tracked.

is it the general consensus that b-12 helps the lyme gen pop or harms? i am still unsure...

humbly

This is what I use:

cyanocobalamin

Not the one most LLMD's use...but mine does. NO problems at all for me.

oh, forgot! [bonk]

what is one of the more reliable ways to test for b12 deficiency in the first place?

my dr is assuming my levels are ok, thus hesitating in giving me the shots.

any ideas for a simple cost effective test?

From my experience I would read and consider the sublinguial B-12 instead. I wouldn't be without them. I just don't need another needle in my arm.

Long distance for me too.
I bought the drops from GNC been on them since thursday last week I havnt noticed any change yet like the b-12 shot.
If the intrinsic factor is missing you could drink a gallon wouldnt do anything.
Thats why I bought the drops sofar no luck intrinsic factor down or non existing?? time will tell.
