Hi guys,

Okay it has been awhile I have been in the hospital this past week with tons more seizures... Then last month I was in for a month.

The other day I woke up and couldn't feel my feet I fall everytime I try to stand on my legs. Now it's creeping up to my knees..

Has this happened to any of you? Where you lose feeling in both legs? I have been getting around via wheelchair at the present time.

We're going to see the doc here maybe next week if the problem persists.

I just wondered what it's like when you lose your leg function....

AND if you all think I might be headed down that path.

I am so frustrated with this nasty disease. God I hate it.

Hope someone knows...

Victoria

Good morning...

Since I am not familiar with your tick borne disease history it is hard to comment... but I can say a few things.

And YES... I KNOW what you guys are thinking.. when can she NOT say a "few things". HA!

You said..

"We're going to see the doc here maybe next week if the problem persists."

May I suggest...

If you are suddenly no longer able to feel your extremities and are suddenly wheel chair bound and progressively getting worse... you might make that a "for sure" visit rather than a "maybe" visit to your doctor next week.

I would also suggest a visit to a chiropractor if you are able.

I hope you get the help you need.

I'm sorry you are in this condition. I agree with Tincup...see your LLMD SOON!!

What meds are you on?? Is this the first time you've lost the feeling in your legs??

Have you tried IV Rocephin??

I think your dr needs to get aggressive with this. Just my opinion.

I would be very concerned about possible Guillian Barre syndrome in this situation. Please make sure a doc checks this out.

Hi victoria I am sorry you have had to endure so much especailly for someone as young as you are [group hug]

I would make a call to your dr and let him no exactly what has gone numb and how fast it persists.

I had numbness in my toes through midway up my calves... but i could walk around...

I just couldn't feel the ground or if I was stuck with a pin I wouldn't feel it.

I have had balance problems and issues with weakness that has made it hard to walk.

Do you think the numbness is what is preventing you from standing/ walking without falling or do you think that it could be another symptom doing that?

And I hope that your dr knows about all the bouts you have had with seizures. I would make sure he knows that you have been hospitalized for them and how many their were and how severe.

- these are just my thoughts as a fellow lyme patient. I would definetely want to make a call to the dr.

oh and I did regain full sensation in my toes/feet/legs.

Dear Victoria, thinking of you. I've not had much numbness with my illness but I have had weak hips that prevent me from walking sometimes and prevent me from walking long distances.

The way the numbness is creeping upward makes me think of Guillian-Barre (sp?). I think you should get this addressed right away.

So very sorry to learn of your many seizures, too. Have these seizures been verified by testing or are the doctors calling them "pseudoseizures"? I have what looks like seizures but I don't go unconscious - thus I am considered mentally ill by most doctors who have seen it. [Mad]

I hope you find answers soon and you can stop and reverse this progression. God bless you.

- Julie

Hello Victoria,

I'm sorry you're in trouble, but remember there are tools that will help. If your doctor isn't aggressively treating you with IV antibiotics get another LLMD.

I've had the same symptoms but to a lesser degree and managed to stay out of the hospital. I, too, have been afraid of Guillain-Barre because of that. I've not yet started abx therapy because I just now found a decent doc.

Blessings,

Katy
