I have had Lyme for 20 years. I've been on Doxy since mid August and taking 200 mg a day and

have seen no results. I've heard to be agressive, 400mg a day is necessary. Is this

true?. If so, are doctors likely to change a prescription from 200mg to 400mg?

My LLMD had me on 400 mg per day. I weigh 125 pounds.

Most likely you will need an LLMD (Lyme literate MD), to get a high enough and long enough dose.

Yes, I do believe that is correct. Dr. B's

guidelines say doxycycline is bacteriostatic

unless given in high doses. Meaning lower

dosages will just keep the bacteria from

reproducing, but won't erradicate it. I'll have

to go back and look but I think he suggests 300-

600 mg. Good luck!

I take 300mg a day, but only weigh about 100 lbs.

Initially diagnosed by a duck and put on 200mg a day.

Just felt terrible without any signs of improvement on that.
