Hello- I am wondering if anybody who has tried this could share their experience with me. I am wondering if just high dose vitamin C therapy (not with salt or anything) has been helpful or hurtful to anyone.

Have you had any side effects from this or felt it helped with lyme or any viruses?

I am curious if anyone has tried this in IV form too and what the experience was.

Thanks. -Despin

Currently, I am doing an IV Vitamin C protocol at one of my doctor's office. I have been getting an IV once per week for the last 5 weeks.

For this protocol they start you out at 15gm vitamin c and they also add B vitamins and glutathione near the end of each bag.

I had 2 bags with the 15gm, then it went up to a bigger bag of 25gm for 2 weeks and the last one I had was a larger bag (650ml), but I can't remember the vitamin C dose.

I can say I noticed a definite up swing in my energy, etc. after the first 25gm bag. I notice a bit after the second 25gm bag, but not so much. I think this was complicated by my Lyme cycling at the same time.

The last bag was okay, not a big difference, but I have been under some stress lately, and I think that has affected the results.

However, I got sick in September with an upper respiratory thing and was couging a long time (2 months), then I got sick AGAIN at the beggining of November and the cough lasted and lasted. I feel this has really kicked that out of me.

The only down side for me is the time it takes to infuse. The big bag takes 3 hours! Not sure how long I can do this with taking time from work and paying for it, etc.

I think my doctor would recommend 2 bags per week, but I just can't do that.

i tried the mega doses orally and it didnt work.
although, im sure it can have a good effect.
i had massive diareah as my body expelled most of it.

the issue is that your body can only absorb a certain amount of a substance at a time, and then it just pushed the rest out.

for example, i think after a workout, you can take up to 40g of protein, and that will aid in recovery and healing of your muscles.

but if i were to take 80g, it would not by any means double the outcome....

hope it helps u, im sure it can

humbly,

derek

I haven't tried it, but one of my doctors recommended it as an option. I haven't heard of any side effects from high dose IV Vitamin C. The diarrhea only comes from oral Vitamin C.

The idea behind it is that it is supposed to boost your immune system enough to fight the infection.
