Just wanted some advice. I have currently been diagnosed with Lyme disease and Chlamydia Pneumonia along with CFS/Fibro symptoms.
My LLMD had me on 4gms daily of Penicillin V and 250mgs MWF of Azithromycin for 8 weeks straight, i never had any problems the only thing i was noticing is i was getting better and had a few little herx reactions but nothing major.
He has just put my on a new 8 week protocol to push me to the next step and it has been Amoxicillin 500mg 2x daily, Azithromycin 250mg MWF, Flagyl 400mg daily and after 4 weeks introduce Isonaizid (but that hasn't happened yet).
As soon as i started i began to find i was becoming very anxious and air hungry as well as hives forming and very itchy to the point welts were coming and going and my skin felt really sunburnt especially around the neck and shoulder area and on the legs. And i have no exposure to the sun.
I stopped it all straight away and took a step back and tried each antibiotic individually and i found the Amoxicillin appeared to be causing the air hunger and the Flagyl was causing was burning skin sensations.
I have never had any allergies to Penicillin so am really stumped on the Amoxicillin?? I have substituted the Amoxicillin with N Acytel Cysteine as these Cpn protocols suggest this. Not sure it will help with the Lymes though?
Also my last try with Flagyl i took 200mg for 3 days straight - With such a small dose why does my skin feel so horrible.
I just want to be able to take these medications to get better i dont know what to do am i allergic? I have emailed my LLMD but he hasn't responded yet. I feel a bit lost on all this.
Can somebody help.
Thank you so much
Jason

I believe flagy can cause neuropathy.
Personally, it sounds like a combination of the disease itself, and the drugs you are taking.

I was on Amoxicillin for 14 days, 15th day woke up with hives...You can become allergic to any med at any time. Believe me when I say this. I would stop them unitl you reach the doctor. Also I was on amoxicillin many times before this.
you can die from a reaction. I almost did from Cirpo ended up in ICU for 10 days...

Hives suggest an allergy. An allergy to an antibiotic can be life threatening. Do you have an Epi Pen? If not, you really should not be on an antibiotic you might be allergic to.
Flagyl can cause neuropathic pain from nerve damage. Call your doctor and/or pharmacist.
