The Middle to the end of September i noticed some new symptoms that ive never had after previously being ill for 3 yrs.

The most bothersome things have been all sorts of mood issues. Basically I have no sense of well being anymore and loss of any excitement or joy. Its not any situational depression but rather an uncontrollable feeling.

On top of that I have anxiety which is also uncontrollable and goes along with the loss of sense of well being. Sometimes it gets to the point where i am so uncomfortable in my body and feel like i want to crawl out of my skin.

The mood stuff is one of the most bothersome symptoms ive ever had.

Normally aside from situation depression or anxiety because of other symptoms they have been fine. These moods arent even anything like what i would call normal depression where i am sad.

I am not sad or have anxiety for no reason.

Around the time these mood problems started i started getting my amalgams replaced. A few of them were corroded and had cavities so i just decided to get them all replaced.

I just recently finished and had them removed properly by a holistic dentist.

At the time this all started i thought it must be some sort of detox reaction of some sort and it made me really discouraged about my decision to get them replaced even though they needed to be.

I am still semi concerned about the possibility of this.

However i noticed that along with all of these weird mood issues i was having hair loss and thinning.

I am a 24 yr old male that has always had a full thick head of hair and in a few months time i can visibly notice my hair thinning and more just feel that its much thinner.

Now im thinking that there has to be something else going on. I know that all this stuff can be lyme symptoms but i have a tough time believing all of these symptoms which ive never had before are related to the lyme bacteria.

On top of the weird mood issues i have weird uncontrollabel disturbing thoughts which i dont even like to mention regarding death and doing cruel things.

For a while i thought i could control all of this and maybe somehow i was becomming depressed. I started taking herbal stuff like sam-e and lithium orotate and while they have helped me some they have helped more in other areas than the mood and restoring my sense of well being.

Im having some blood tests including thyroid and hormones that i havent gotten back yet but i wanted to get some input from people who may understand these feelings and have any input.

Does any one have any idea what could have caused this and why it seems that it isnt letting up much? Thyroid? Hormonal imbalance? Amalgams being replaced? Any other ideas?

Gigi, have you ever heard about these type of symptoms from simply removing amalgam?

Does any one else have any ideas?

Thanks for any input

Joe

I know that I lost my hair when my thyroid was off. You can loose hair with hypo or hyper thyroidism. Also medications can have the same effect. It's good you had a blood test. Hope that will give you the information you are looking for

My hair is suddenly coming out almost by the handful after 11 mos of treatment! Lupus, Thyroid, etc issues have been ruled out. So, I'm puzzled too & will be watching this thread with interest.

The anxiety and loss of excitement, as you put it, reminds me of what Lyme has done to me.

A feeling of being "blah" is how I would describe it. Can function but nothing is interesting.

Severe anxiety, along with a gob of other neuro symptoms, is what got me to realize I had Lyme this summer. I started on Zoloft. Took 5 weeks to take effect but it really does help.

It's not something I want to take for a long time, but it helped me get quality of life back as I treat the Lyme.

I tried weaning off Zoloft a couple weeks ago and that feeling of "blah" came right back, along with an eye twitch, etc. So I'm not ready to be off it quite yet.

For some of us, Lyme hits us very emotionally. Don't hesitate to talk to your doctor about taking something to help you through this time.

When you feel better emotionally you heal better, too.

Alopecia, hair loss, can be caused by Lyme- it's been documented for years and years as a symptom-
and if you get bitten on the head it can happen at the rash /EM spot!!!!!

Might be a mercury problem. After you take out the amalgams, there is plenty of mercury left in the body and the brain which have to be chelated using some safe chelation method (Andrew Cutler for example)

I have the same problems. I get depressed and/or anxious with no external reason whatsoever. And when I say anxiety, it is the most terrifying anxiety I have ever experienced in my life. In fact, I find myself clenching my teeth for no reason, and I've even sawed off the tops of my lower teeth. I've also lost a good amount of hair.

I think it is some sort of fungal overgrowth, though not even probiotics have helped. I have Microwave Sickness/Electromagnetic Hypersensitivities, in addition to Lyme Disease and babesia.

I've noticed that my tongue is often white when my symptoms increase, and my digestion comes to a screeching halt. This is when I am likely to become most depressed, anxious, and most likely to notice significant hair loss.

With the help of a gaussmeter I discovered that when I'm exposed to an increase in any electromagnetic/microwave field, the yeast in my body gets the "signal" to grow out of control and my symptoms increase. This includes exposure to my computer, cell phones, cordless phones, the furnace, even my car.

Here's a support group that has formed for the electrosensitive.

http://health.groups.yahoo.com/group/emfrefugee/

Pretty much nothing is being done about it in the US, but if you use a cell phone or cordless phone or have wireless internet, you might want to consider switching back to less dangerous technologies - at least while researchers sit their defending industry profits over the health of the human race.

It's obviously going to take a lot of sick people to make some noise.

My anxiety has been horrible since starting meds. I have cut out all sugar and it seems to have gotten a lot better.
Since starting vit b and juicing, my hair stopped falling out and I was losing a lot.
I think the key is detoxing, cause let's be real, chemo patients lose their hair b/c chemo is horribly toxic.

Thanks for your replies.

I have a hard time believing its related to the lyme. Ive had lyme for over 3 yrs now and after treating for 2 yrs to have these type of symptoms which ive never had before seems unlikely.

I was just looking to find other possibilities that i may be overlooking.

I am very strict on my diet and take a daily regimen of supplements. So i doubt its any vitamin or mineral dificency or yeast of any sort.

The only thing i can come up with is some sort of hormonal imbalance, but im still not sure.

I thought it may be some how related to the removal of my fillings but i dont think that would cause this type of reaction.

On top of the mood stuff i have other new symptoms but the mood stuff and physically just not feeling comfortable in my body or "off" are the most bothersome.

Any one with other suggestions?

Thanks again.

Joe
