I am guessing you are doing the Cowden Protocol, since Quina is part of that.
It is my understanding that the whole purpose of taking Quina is to kill Babs. Quina stands for quinine, which is what kills Babs.
That is also why Quina and Cumanda are taken first, before starting Samento, since most docs think Babs and candida should be dealt with first, before tackling the Lyme.
Quina kills Babs, and Cumanda kills candida and a host of other things, which is why the Cumanda is continued as an alternate with the Samento afte you are done with Quina.
I could not take Quina, because all quinine derivatives make me stop breathing. Cumanda had a 3 day delay before I started to herx from it each time I raised the dose, but Samento caused herxing within an hour of each dose for me.
Good luck, Klutzo

My LLMD has me on this as well as various other tinctures. It is a killer for me - 6 weeks and I'm only up to 9 drops twice a day. He told me it does Lyme and babs - antifungal, antibacterial, antiviral, you-name-it, LOL!
I'm also taking pinella and that seems to be helping me to not herx so much.
Never mind that, I still have a nasty sore throat today. Don't know what can survive what I'm taking, but oh, well...

I'm still ramping up on the Cumanda. I also ramped up on the Samento ... I finally just jumped from 17 drops to 20 drops and herxed a little from it, LOL. So, no jumping up with the Cumanda ... one drop at a time ... I'm up to 8 in the morning and 8 in the evening.
I also use the parsley and burbur ... they help a LOT with herx symptoms.

I was informed by my LLMD that none of the current Nutramedix herbs, including Quina, work for Babesia. They are developing a new herb that does work for co-infections and it is supposed to be released soon! So....none of the current protocol works for babesia...as far as I know .
