I love bromelain. I don't have arthritic lyme, but I do take it for the occasional muscle aches from overuse. Last April I had a frozen shoulder, and bromelain helped it in about 10 days.
I had found an excellent article online from the University of Maryland Medical Center. You would have to research it again. That's where I picked up the bromelain tip.

Good stuff!

I've been taking it for a number of years but not for pain. I take it at night before going to sleep because it keeps me from feeling like I'm burning up. When I try to stop, the problem comes back.

It is an anti-inflammatory and helps reduce fibrin too. Be careful combining with any other blood thinners because it is a mild blood thinner.

TerryK, when you wrote of "burning up" is this a fever or burning skin? I get the burning skin, and I was wondering if bromelain would help with that. I'll have to try it.
