My daughter who is 11 was treated in 04/05 and has been doing great since then...no symptoms. This morning she wakes up and said her right leg below the knee is numb (with pain) and under both arms she's very sore. As we all know, lyme presents with many different, odd and unique symptoms.

I took her to the pedicatrician who referred us to the Children's Hospital ER in our state. Of course the first thing that occurs to me is lyme. I don't want to over react but just have to wonder if lyme is back and has returned. There was a lyme doc in our state who is no longer practicing due to health reasons.

Was she treated for co-infections?

It would be worth checking out. That kind of pain isn't really normal for an 11 year old.

I know checking it out won't be easy with the Colorado LLMD closed .... I dragged my daughter to NY to see my LLMD and am glad I did. Even if she didn't need treatment, I would still be glad I knew for sure.

I'd check her for coinfections AND biotoxin gene. Search for posts on biotoxins for details.

My relapse (after 4 years) was caused by discovery of Bart coinfection and biotoxin gene. This gene doesn't allow you to naturally rid your body of the Lyme die-off so the biotoxins start re-circulating in your body, bringing back symptoms.

Just a thought...
