Has anyone else experienced problems with salt sensitivity and disregulation? I taste salt constantly and my skin and mouth are extremely dry.

I don't add any salt to my foods, yet even low-salt foods like zucchini and cauliflower taste extremely salty to me. My fingers and toes burn.

My gut feeling on this is that it is related to adrenals and liver function, and possibly myelin sheath degeneration due to inability to uptake fat during the last 18 months.

Has anyone else had anything similar to this?

My sodium levels are impacted by low adrenal function.

I am drinking licorice root tea every morning around 7 AM and this is helping.

Florinef can help with sodium retention too if this is the issue

Have you done any saliva tests for hormonal issues.

Diagnos-tek in Washington state has a good test kit for adrenal function

I have been on the slat c protocal for over a year and the past 3 month I have been at 10 grams per day of sodium and C. I do not have your problem of smelling salt all the time. I suggest taking sea salt and see what happens. I think a person needs salt in the diet and maybe your body is telling you to eat sea salt. I use REAL SALT from Utah. Do not eat processed salt it is acidic in the body. The minerals in sea salt help alkalize the body.

Take care

I was tested in an NIH research facility and found to not be able to excrete sodium normally in the upright posture.

A few years later I was tested for food allergies at the naturopathic school and found to be allergic to table salt but not to sea salt.
