when i look back at my disease there is something strange about the coming and going of symptoms:

it was often, that while i took abx one main symptom disappeared exactly in the moment another main symptom appeared. and than this symptom stayed for months. exactly until the first one came again or another one. and so on.

the same happened now weeks ago and i keep asking myself: is this typical for lyme? is there an explanation? do the bugs concentrate on part of the body and then are forced by abx to move to another?

This happens to me on a weekly and sometimes daily basis. For instance I have severe headaches, joint and muscle pain and severe bladder pain just to mention some. But I never have the bladder pain when I have a severe headache or joint pain. And I never have bad joint pain when I am having a bout of GI issues. Very weird. My LLMD says transient pain is a Lyme thing. But I've never really known why either.

Same thing happens for me as well...As soon as I get rid of my weird neck pain that feels like a screw driver is being inserted into my head, it goes away and is replaced by eye pain or an irrational crying spell for no reason. It's as if that **** bacteria just doesn't want to give us an ounce of a break! It's gruelling isn't it!

You have to remember that if you have multiple infections that there is a natural balance between them as they compete for resources. Usually, one infection is dominant and the others are suppressed as a result. If an abx knocks one of them down, then the others that are not as sensitive to the drug will take the lead role, usually with a differnt symptom set.

This poly microbal infection effect is well known by some, and has been the conceptual basis used by some bio weapons designers as revenge weapons of last resort. With a poly microbal infection or mixed bacterial-viral infection it is very very difficult to treat and almost imposible to cure unless one hits on a combination of drugs that can wipe out the entire group of infections. This might take a long time....if one is lucky

This effect has been studied as a means of stopping a pandemic. The idea is to use one infection that is dominant but not so bad to pre-empt a pandemic infection.
