My situation is that I was diagnosed 2 years ago with Lyme and Bartonella. I guess I could have Babs but my Igenex test results did not come back positive in any way for Babs. I've treated the Lyme with IV Rocephin along with a few other antibiotics (Biaxin, Zithro, ceftin and tetracyline, etc). I've also tried to treat the Bart which I think is what is preventing me from getting better at all but I've not responded well to Bart meds - Rifampin just wasn't effective after 3 months, I'm allergic to Bactrim/Septra and LEvaquin worked initially but after a few weeks I got horrible side effects. I think I still have Bart (all my symptoms are neuro: headaches, fatigue, tingling in my head/face, mood issues, anxiety, terrible neck creaks, used to have vertigo, heart palps - I could go on..). Anyway, my LLMD is now thinking to try Bicillin injections. I'm hesitant becuase I don't even think I have Lyme anymore -I think I've treated enough for it. I think I still have Bart and Bicillin isn't going to do anything for it, will it? I'm not sure what to do next...

How long do you believe you had Lyme prior to starting treatment? If you got on it right away it may very well be that your Lyme has been cured. My doctor says that in his experience, ppeople who have untreated Lyme for more than a year are unable to go off of antibiotics without relapsing. The symptoms you report are many that I had and I have not had bart.
Have you researched what Lymenet members have posted about Bicillin? There are a lot of satisfied customers. I consider it to be my lifeline and think you should seriously consider it.

I took Bicillin LA for 6 months, twice weekly...about two years ago. The dosage was 2 million units....long 2 1/4 inch needle in the butt. My diagnosis is chronic Lyme and Babesiosis...for over 12 years. Net result: no positive effect with the Lyme, but despite the use of pro-biotics..it trashed my urinary tract, causing all sorts of problems and it took nearly one year to normalize. So, I guess I would say...proceed with extreme caution.
