I know that Levaquin kills Bart, but I'm wondering what adjunct antibiotic (Doxy or Mino) people seem to have better success with.
Anyone???

Biaxin/amoxi, one year bart clear.Biaxin got the Bart. Can be taken with Doxy, I assume Mino would be fine too, ask your LLMD. Check the lable inserts, I know Doxy kills one strain of Bart, not sure about Mino. My LLMD said Doxy/Biaxin is "dynamite duo" a pm to me from a member here, told me it put her entire family into remission. Take care.

I had mino many moons ago and it helped me quite a bit. I also had doxy IV which put me over the top. Mino is great because it seems to penetrate the blood/brain barrier better. Just my opinion.
I think you'll do well with both.
Back in the day when I was treated with these drugs, they didn't do combos, so I can not comment on the efficacy of one or the other in conjunction with another drug.

When I had minocin as a kid, I had a herx reaction to minocin that was more pronouned then the doxy. I read that minocin has a smaller mol. so better.

My son's LLMD prescribed Rifampin and Doryx (a gentler form of Doxy) to treat Bart. We just started in Dec. 2007.
FYI- he is still taking Tinidazole and Plaquenil. Hope this helps.

I think Doxy is better.
I'm on Doxy and Rifampin for Bart.

Interesting.. I felt mino better, yet some say doxy seems better. The military likes doxy so maybe thats truely the best. Who knows.
