hey everybody! let me first say, i believe i have lyme...my test was in the middle/weak positive, but i plan to get some alternative testing since i have a lot going on and haven't really had any help...but so you know, i've been sick for exactly a year, have many many symptoms, ect.

well, a month and a half ago, i had a catscan dye and i've been extremely sick since...an increase of neuro symptoms

my sleep and appetite got thrown the opposite of what they were before basically, lots of flush sensations...just a real sickly feeling has anybody ever had an experience like this or have any ideas? it's been so long that it has to be something strange and it just puzzles me

i'm wondering if i have detox pathway problems since i've heard people mention it...it would make sense but if so, that would obviously be something needed to be fixed before treating any of the illness...anybody have an experience with that? i hear that bioset can tell if you have detox problems and there's good things to help it, but what have other people came upon if you had an issue with it?

Yes. I felt ill during a SPECT scan of my brain, but I wouldn't blame the dye necessarily.

It may have been the scan itself.

I am so freaked by what happened, I worry about brain tumors, but I'm not sure how they would ever visualize my brain again. I'm not letting them near me.

i doubt it's that, but that sounds intense...i've had scans before, i had a brain mri w/dye with no problem at all, but it's a whole different dye the one used with CT...radioactive medicine, scary name huh? but it's just the same flush feelings i've had since the minute they gave me it

As soon as she turned the machine on, it felt like my head was going to explode and I had a hell of a time trying to hold my urine in, even though I'd gone to the bathroom prior to the scan.

It wasn't the dye - it was the EMR from the machine.

I wouldn't even get an EKG prior to starting quinine - that's how sure of this I am. I just take the quinine and hope my heart is okay.

By the way, I've had scans before with no problem, but radiation exposure is cumulative and has a saturation point. And apparently, between cell phone towers and repeated diagnostic scans, I reached it.

Yep some of us get saturated a lot easier than most....

I noticed there was a lawsuit being advertised against some form of dye used in MRI scans....

You may want to go to the internet and put up the kind of dye you were given and see where that takes you....

Who know's, perhaps they gave you "THAT" dye and you can make some money off of your predicted illness from the dye and catscan.

Good luck

I believed that I herxed from an MRI.

I usually herx about 1.5 days after I swallow and ABX and 1.5 days after my MRI scan I was on the floor in the worst pain I had ever felt. My lyme symptoms went through the roof!

But after a couple days it went away...
