I went to the Dr. and she diagnosed me with strep syndrome - spondyloarthritis.

Does anyone have this?

I have to take a ton of supplements but they will help me to get better sooner. Lets just hope so.

Thanks!

'Toxic strep syndrome'. A manifestation of group A streptococcal infection
T. Bartter, A. Dascal, K. Carroll and F. J. Curley
Division of Pulmonary and Critical Care Medicine, University of Massachusetts Medical School, Worcester.

Three patients presented with multisystem disease that shared many of the features of toxic shock syndrome.

Bacteriologic and serologic evidence strongly suggested that group A beta-hemolytic Streptococcus had caused the illnesses. Group A streptococcal infection may be an underdiagnosed cause of a toxic streptococcal syndrome, a syndrome of multisystem disease apparently mediated by toxins.

Dr Lida Mattman said that lyme literaly farms strep colonies so its possible going by what she said.

But if your getting treatment for lyme some of the same abx's used should take care of the strep.

I know a chronic strep infection can cause reactive arthritis. My LLMD has suspected it in me. Only place it showed up was in a vaginal culture once.

My cousin's daughter who has spent most of her life in the woods and also was fighting forest fires had lots of Lyme symptoms.

She went to the MD in MT. and they said she has some mystery disease that they couldn't figure out.

She was going to go to college in AZ. So I gave her the names of the AZ. LL choices there. The person she saw said she had that Strep syndrome and treated her with antibiotics for a short time.

She says she doesn't have the symptoms she was having before..........so??? I personally think she has Lyme, but who am I to say? I am just a Mom trying to get her daughter well and try to help others along the way.

HUGS,
