It's driving me insane!!!

Yep....and it's been going on for months on end. Sometimes it takes me 5 or 6 tries to open a thread...I get blank screens, download managers, computer code of several types, until I finally give up.
Sadly, it's often something I know a bit about and could help with, like bactrim for example, and by the time I come back the thread is off the first page which usually means I won't run across it again.
I've got high speed internet and use a Mac with Safari browser, so it's not just PCs it's the site.

Yes - I've been having loads of problems too.
I inquired of the Lymenet "powers that be" & they're going to be doing something that should hopefully resolve some of these issues very soon.

Same problems here... I have dial-up.
I've noticed that it extends to other sites once I've been at LN - pages don't load properly, etc.
I've also noticed that I keep picking up at least one Tracking Cookie on a regular basis, and I think it may be coming from HERE.

If you are using the latest version of internet Explorer, this could be the problem. It freezes easily and I quit using it. Mozilla Firefox is much more stable, especially for this site.
I get delays on this site, but no freezes with Firefox.

Being a former Admin on a BB with the same software I can tell you the problem is on the site itself. So don't go crazy trying to fix your browser or PC, they probably have to flush the cache or something like that.

I guess you and I could be in trouble at the same time though? But Lymetoo in trouble? No way.
So I guess we can stop being paranoid. It's not us misbehaving? Well right this minute anyway.

If I were you after what I found today on my computer...I'd so some serious spyware and firewall searching.
Make sure all your security protection is working. Especially those of you that are having problems all over the net and not just lymenet.

For me, it goes WAY beyond freezing or being slow. That would be the least of my worries.
I got my firewall back on, and now it's off again. I'm really afraid of what info SOMEONE is getting from my computer!!!!
I keep running Spy Bot and Ad Aware and am getting #&%$ off every time I run it.
I do hope Tim Brown is getting something done to protect us here. I wonder if Lymenet's firewall is down or something??
SOMEBODY is hacking into this site!

Yes and 90 percent of the time, its not my computer- its the site.
They were suppossed to update their webserver......
its not trolls.
If you are getting the message "Web not responding" its lymenets server. I notice alot of times,
I will sign on, and be able to see the front page, but "flash discussion" will freeze on me and I can't see anything.
Other times, I can't delete mail. I can click until I am blue and nothing will go away.
But if I go to another site, I can fly around it.
ive had three different( and brand new) computers since being on lymenet.
Their server is over half the reason why I hardly come here. I was tired of the server messages.

I see a lot of you talking about running your SpyWare but no one talking about using an anti-virus program.
You should have 1. A good Firewall program like Zone Alarm Free 2. You should have an anti-virus protecting your PC at ALL TIMES. 3. You should do a Windows security update every month. 4. You should do an anti-virus update every day and run it once a week.
Just some guidelines I hope you are all doing.
It's fine to have and run the other programs you speak of but not even close to being as important as a good Firewall and anti-virus.
If you have questions PM me and I'll get backl to you as soon as possible but remember, I'm one of you and so it make take some time.

I keep getting the white "Can't find the Server" page at this site only. When I do get in, freezes, etc.
And like everyone else, I have been cleaning my comp with out getting results.
Hope they get this fixed soon.

Music man, I'm also doing virus and firewall runs. There is one post here that someone says they have found 2 hidden virus in their computer.
So even though I'm running my virus everyday and there's nothing detected, it could be something hidden like the other poster found.
I was running my spyware for days also and THOUGTH it was cleaned up. It was also hidden 170 spy were attached. I literally had to go in the back way (quite by luck) and able my spyware again manually. Somehow someone somewhere in cyberspace had the ability to disable my spyware.
I'm playing a phone game with my internet security company. I'm going to have them walk me through their secret passage to getting to everything to see what else has been effected on my computer.
I'm trying to tell all of you on lymenet....THERE IS A HUGE COMPUTER BUG THAT HAS BEEN ATTACHED TO MY COMPUTER. Lymetoo is trying to tell you in this thread that it could be more serious than your lymenet.
Lymetoo and I both have major problems caused by a hacker/scammer. We believe it's related to this site.

Are you actually doing a virus scan every day or just running the update program?
Make sure you do a full system scan on your PC.
If you have a virus that keeps coming back, you will have to turn off system restore and then run your anti-virus program again.
To turn off system restore: Start All programs Accessories System tools System restore
When you get to the system restore part just disable and you'll get a box asking if you really want to, just click yes.
I'll try to get back here and post a link to another program I use for Trojans.
You can look for yourself if you want. It's called A2-Anti-Trojan and they have a pay one and a free one, look for the free one and download it, then run it on your PC with nothing else open, like your browser or email.
As far as catching a virus from this site or any other site for that matter, it's not possible unless you get a window saying something wants to install on your PC, if you click on yes you would be allowing the virus in but I have never seen a virus yet on a BB system.

You'll do fine print my directions and follow the steps.
I did not get a chance to get the link for A2 anti-trojan today but I'll try again tomorow and from the looks of things, a lot of you should run this program at least once anyhow.

It's pretty common on message boards to get spyware and such. Those that do it will always be ahead of those who try to protect against it. It's the world we live in now. Just make sure you have antivirus and spyware, and it runs regularly.

I finally met up with my internet security company on the phone yesterday. I had been deleting spies for three day. Running anti-virus and looking at my firewall.
I made lots of protective changes to my computer before I got on the phone with support. He actually hooked up to my computer and went through everything from his end and I could watch me going through everything. It was cool.
I just love a total computer nerd. I've learned alot on my own the last week. He taught me alot more about protection on this thing we call the world wide web.
Everytime we sign on we are possbily having someone try to spam us, hack us, spy on us etc. If you have all the anti-virus, spyware and firewalls in place you should be fine. But....
I found out that I had spies galore attached to me and they were following me around, including lymenet.
When I was running sooooo slow and everything was locking up on me Monday, I went looking and found my spyware was disabled. At that time I had 170 spyware attached.
I deleted them and went to lymenet and stayed on maybe 30 minutes and logged out and I had 10 more spyware attached. All day long Thurs & Friday I was watching them watch me.
I was a cleaning fool. lol Support assured me as he snooped around in my computer while I watched that I had no viruses. He loved the way I had set my computer to now clean, sweep and delete everyday for viruses and spyware.
If you can stay ahead of them (the bad guys in www) you can help your computer and speed things up. I'm now freely go here and there on the web and not feeling so invaded.
They might have the ability to latch on to me, but they won't for long. Zap, they're gone.
Remember they don't go away. You have to keep going after them too.
