Is roxy the only drug that can do this?

Try roxithromycin with bactrim. It is shown that bactrim somehow increases the MIC values for roxy.

Have you tried roxithromycin yet? Cheap compared to zithromax and biaxin.

Acme formulation LTD india makes their brand name of roxithromycin called rulide. You can get their rulide from www.pillskingdom.com

I have also had the levofloxacin that they make. Just as wicked as the brand name levaquin.

If you want to read about acme formulation you can go to their website below. They follow all of the necessary quality and safety steps in making their drugs. The indians are very good at making pharmaceuticals. Most of the generics sold in local pharms are made in india. Companies such as Cipla and Ranbaxy are common in american pharmacies. Acme formulation also private manufactures for these big generic companies.

I have also ordered rulide from www.edrug1.com and their Rocithin brand roxithromycin comes from thailand. I believe they have the manufacture listed as SM pharma.

Sending them to a lab is possible but I usually just get a brand name pill from one of the members and do dissolve and taste tests ect as comparison.

Just don't order anything from china or hong kong. They are the ones who have given counterfeit drugs a bad name. Most of the websites do want you coming back for more business so they do their best to get you the real thing. If they gave out fake stuff then I don't think people would be flocking to buy their generic viagra and levitra. The indians are one of the top 3 drug makers next to germany and the usa.

You would know if you got bogus stuff. The real stuff causes nice little tingles and pains when you kill bart or borrelia off.

You obviously have a LL doctor. TRUST YOUR DOCTOR. Let the treatment work. It takes time.

Please don't go buying other sorts of pills, etc.

Your doctor has outlined a plan, given you good medicines.

If you alter that plan not only are you jeopardizing your life but your doctor's future and that of his family, as well as the future of all other patients that doctor may (or may not) have in the future as a result of risks you may encounter while under his care (even if it's your fault) .

If you take nutritional supplements, please clear that with your doctor. And don't just buy from anywhere or anyone. Ask for brand and locations from your doctor.

We do not know enough medicine and enough about this disease to be our own doctors in such a manner.

The risk is huge - really huge - if we go messing up a prescribed treatment plan.

I know many of us have to be our own doctors and we do the best we can.

Adamm, you have a doctor. You have a treatment plan. Please talk to your doctor if you just can't stick to his recommendations.

He deserves to know and have the chance to talk about what changes might help. If you do go off the plan by taking other drugs, you should let him know you no longer are a patient - are on hold - or whatever.

Edited to add: I say this because I and the Queen of trying to speed things up. As a teen with braces, one month I doubled the number of rubber bands on each side of my mouth. When the orthodontist (boy, does auto spell check help!) . . . well, when my overbite turned into a underbite he hit the roof.

I've done similar stuff . . . be sure to ask your doctor about the future and what about this or that . . . there may be individual reasons or just general information that might put you more at ease with the plan. Or ask around for a more aggressive doctor just, please, if you are so lucky to have a doctor, give them a chance. To rush this can be dangerous.

Amamm,

We are all desperate to get better or even well.

However, remember that slow and steady wins the race.

Hitting your system with too much at one time can land you in the hospital.

Try some visualization. I did. Every time I took

My antibiotics I would visualize them as mini bombs searching out

Those ketes and blasting them to kingdom come.

Fast and furious and super aggressive therapy without the supervision

Of your LLMD is not a good idea. Could do more harm than good.

It may be that the "right" antibiotic cocktail has not yet been found for you.

This is something that may take some time and trial and error.

While nobody likes to play the game of lose, lose, lose,

Sometimes you have to in order to finally "win" over this disease.

Please call your LLMD and run things by him/her.

Hugs,

Geneal

Keebler and Geneal, this advice for adamm has helped me, too. Thanks!

I laughed about the braces - a similar thing happened to me, too! And I needed corrective braces ten years later to undo the damage!

I agree with Keebler.

Plus, if you are really unhappy with your LLMD's plan please talk to him/her about it if you haven't already. If your LLMD is not willing to change the plan, find out why. He may have a good reason. If you are still unhappy with the plan, you must find another LLMD that you can work with.

If you are making treatment decisions based on advice from lymenet, remember, we are NOT LLMD's. We don't have a medical license and are not qualified to give medical advice. We have not had the benefit of treating lots of patients etc. etc.. Sure, we have some experience and often good advice but it may not always be correct.

My first abx was minocycline and I ended up with hyperpigmentation which *may* lead to cancer although they really don't know what the consequences are. 2 of my regular doctors looked at it as it was developing and didn't know what it was.

I've also had elevated liver enzymes (very high) with some abx that are not expected to cause those type of problems.

Please, don't do anything to hurt yourself or your LLMD.

I know how hard it is to keep waiting to get well but sometimes we have to be patient.

Terry
