I have so many of symptoms of bartonella but also a few of babesia. So tremendously exhausted all the time with tremendous head fog...terrible shin pain in my right leg, one sided sweats, shaking, headaches, tremors, frequent low blood sugars, unable to gain weight, twitching. Shin bone pain so bad on and off, if I had an ax I would have cut it off. Fry test antibodies negative but bart showed in pictures according to lab. I already knew that I had it but noone would treat it so I switched Doctors at the beginning of the week. She is just starting me on Zith oral 250 mgs BID. Will this help?? She is doing echo as she thinks it is also in my heart. I am so very very sick. She will add Mepron next month for 1 weeek only? Any advise would be so helpful.Lisa

Lisa,
I, too, have Bart. I do not believe Zithromax alone will kill the Bart. It needs to be coupled with Rifampin or another abx.
However, you cannot take Rifampin and Mepron at the same time so not certain you can treat Bart & Babs simultaneouly. Hopefully someone else on the board will have input.
Other options for Bart: Cipro, Levaquin but please do a search for these drugs because they seem to be a hit or miss with people.
Also do a search for Bartonella and see what other "abx cocktails" people are taking. There are a few aimed towards Bart.
The zith WILL hit your Lyme if it's a high enough dose.
