I can't seem to find www.bowen.org on the web anymore. I have a friend who needs to get tested, and I'm not up to date on the best tests currently. Please help. I've been out of the loop for a while. Treatment has been going well and I've been feeling good. But, it look like I've missed some important information! What's the scoop on the Florida lab? I appreciate any information. Thanks!

My understanding is that it is closed. There is information on the board about it and you can find what happened in better detail that I can provide by searching topics.
IGENEX labs is the better testing facility being used.
good luck and welcome back. Glad to hear your tx is going well!

LF, I just tried to do a search but the LymeNet board is acting up again....
Try searching "Central Florida Reserach" or "flow cytometry" here for more info.
There have been a couple people here that got tested at the Florida lab with this new flow cytometry Lyme test - which is loosely based on the Bowen Q-RIBb test - and they got 'negative' test results. I believe both people who did this had already been in treatment for some time, but were not 100% well.
So, it is hard to say right now if this new 'version' of the old Q-RIBb test is going to be of benefit, at least to those who have already received some form of treatment. After all, if there are very few bugs present in the blood, no antigen test will be able to detect them.
